Talent Is Not Enough, Management Is Everything – Bullgod

Bullgod

Ghanaian entertainment pundit and artiste manager, Lawrence Nana Asiamah Hanson, popularly known as Bullgod, has shared details of his final conversation with the late Highlife legend, Dada KD, on the morning of Friday, May 16, 2025, the very day the musician passed away.

Bullgod recounted discussing preparations for an upcoming show in London, for which Dada KD was booked to perform. They had been coordinating visa arrangements and other logistics over the past two months.

“I spoke to Dada KD the day he died, in the morning. I was booking him for an event in London, but during our phone conversation, his voice was not clear, it was shaky, and he told me he wasn’t feeling too well. So, I told him I would leave him for now, and we’d continue the discussion in the evening.”

According to him, he followed up with the artist’s manager to ensure plans for the visa application were still on track.

“I later called his manager and told him I had just spoken to Dada KD about the event, but I realised he wasn’t feeling well, so maybe the following day we could arrange to submit the visa application. But the manager assured me that in about an hour, he would prepare Dada KD so they could go and get the visa.”

Tragically, later that evening, Bullgod received a call from his UK partner, Ransford, informing him of the veteran singer’s sudden demise. The news was shocking, especially given their earlier conversation and the artist’s apparent enthusiasm for the upcoming performance.

While the news is still settling in, many are struggling to come to terms with the sudden loss of a man whose music defined love, culture, and real-life stories for decades.

However, in an interview, King Pee recounted the harrowing ordeal of the veteran artist. “A lady who helps him at home heard he fell and rushed to the room to find him unconscious and unresponsive,” King Pee said.

“So she called a taxi driver who usually transports Dada KD around when his car isn’t working, and they rushed him to the hospital. They had to visit three hospitals before they found a doctor at the last hospital, which was the Gbawe Government Hospital.”

The revelation has sparked renewed concerns about Ghana’s healthcare system, particularly the availability of emergency medical personnel.

According to King Pee, the urgency in finding a hospital with a doctor on duty could have made a difference in the artist’s survival.

While the exact cause of death has not been made public, many have begun questioning whether quicker intervention could have saved the life of the beloved crooner.

Moreover, the artiste manager revealed that Stonebwoy knew he would not win the Artiste of the Year crown at the just-ended Ghana Music Awards.

He said the artist is very spiritual and can tell when something will go his way.

“Stonebwoy is a spiritual person, so he knew this year wasn’t his year, so he is not disappointed he did not win. Maybe it was his PR who gave him hope that he would win, but the Stonebwoy I know knew he would not win.”

However, Bulldog said that Black Sherif will be crowned Artiste of the Year at the next TGMA.

He said it will take a while before Stonebwoy wins the award again, considering the work the young lads are putting into their craft. “Next year is Black Sherif’s year. You people should record me and put this one there for evidence,” he said.
