Ancelotti Bids Emotional Farewell to Real Madrid After Historic Second Stint

Carlo Ancelotti

Real Madrid officially confirmed the departure of legendary manager Carlo Ancelotti today, just a day after veteran midfielder Luka Modric’s own exit was announced.

Though Ancelotti’s next destination—the Brazilian national team—had already been publicly confirmed, this announcement marks the club’s formal farewell to the most decorated manager in its storied history.

The Italian tactician will lead Real Madrid for one final match at the Santiago Bernabeu on Saturday when they host Real Sociedad in their last La Liga fixture of the season. The club has planned a grand send-off to honor a manager who has brought immense success and stability to the team across two remarkable spells.

Ancelotti’s second tenure at Real Madrid was nothing short of extraordinary. Returning in 2021 after a successful first spell from 2013 to 2015, the 64-year-old guided the team to multiple domestic and international titles. With 15 trophies under his belt, including two UEFA Champions League titles, La Liga championships, and FIFA Club World Cups, Ancelotti leaves a legacy etched in Real Madrid folklore.

A Farewell Etched in Emotion and Gratitude

In an open letter released shortly before the announcement, Ancelotti penned a heartfelt farewell to the club, its players, staff, and the fans who have stood by him throughout the journey.

“Today we part ways again. Once again, I carry with me in my heart every moment of this wonderful second stint as Real Madrid manager,” Ancelotti began. “They have been unforgettable years, an incredible journey filled with emotions, titles, and, above all, the pride of representing this club.”

He extended his gratitude to Real Madrid president Florentino Perez and everyone who contributed to his tenure: “Thanks to President Florentino Perez, the club, my players, my staff, and, above all, to this unique fan base that has always made me feel like one of them.”

The coach reflected not only on the silverware but also on the spirit with which success was achieved: “What we’ve achieved together will forever remain in the memory of Real Madrid fans, not only for the triumphs, but for the way we achieved them. The magical nights at the Bernabeu are now part of football history.”

Ancelotti concluded his message with a nod to his future and a promise to never forget his bond with the club: “Now a new adventure begins, but my bond with Real Madrid is eternal. See you soon, Real Madrid fans. Hala Madrid Y Nada Más!”

As he departs for the Brazilian national team, Ancelotti leaves behind a legacy of tactical brilliance, calm leadership, and deep emotional connection with one of the biggest football clubs in the world. While a new chapter begins in South America, his imprint on Real Madrid and European football will remain timeless.
