A huge frenzy is building up around Lil Win’s upcoming film, The Last African Hero – a biopic about Burkina Faso’s Head of State, Ibrahim Traore.
The actor first shared a teaser of the new movie, The Last African Hero, with a video of him and his cast wearing military uniforms similar to the Burkinabe military leader.
According to him, his attempt to document Ibrahim Traore’s reign so far has been criticised by some Ghanaians. In a video shared, the Kumawood sensation was seen flashing an envelope full of dollars.
He claimed that a public leader offered him the money as an incentive to stop his efforts towards releasing Ibrahim Traore’s biopic.
“A man I do not know came to meet me because his boss had sent him to convince me to stop the movie. He said the boss had arranged some gifts for me and my crew members if we followed his wish. For us to believe him, he offered $20k.”

However, Hip-life legend Okyeame Kwame is among many Ghanaians who believe in the actor’s project and are ready to see it come to fruition.
The rapper joined other fans to encourage Lil Win to look beyond the current opposition and release the film. Some netizens reacted to the actor’s upcoming film after his $20k offer.
“Then he should be careful with his life because hmmmm, since the person isn’t a Ghanaian di3, it’s someway.”

“Why is he not allowing Burna Boy to perform in his country. Since the people of Burkina are all happy… Maybe some of you supporting this should move to Burkina.”

“It’s a beautiful thing seeing Africa rise and on its way to be better, but sometimes you people shouldn’t be this hurried. The story just started, and you want to make movies. It would’ve been the best to cover a documentary, but at this point, it feels so lame to push vision on the screens, especially when you can’t even mention his name well. 🔥🔥”

“What right does the person have to ask them to stop the movie? Do they see Ibrahim Traore as a threat or what? The man is a good leader and President, and he helps his people. Why should a movie about him be stopped?”

Lil Win’s Traore Action Stunt Sparks Reactions

Kwadwo Nkansah’s upcoming biopic about the President of Burkina Faso sparked backlash after a new teaser was released.
Lil Win has been a comic actor for the majority of his career, and for the first time, demonstrated to the public his ability to engage in action movie stunts.
Dressed in similar military gear to the Burkinabe leader, he exchanged blows with his opponent and easily overpowered him.
The scene demonstrated the famed military prowess of Captain Traore, but its execution left a lot to be desired, prompting criticism and backlash from Ghanaians.
In the video, a concerned content creator blasted the Kumawood star for failing to record the movie in a language that could make it a hit outside the shores of Ghana.
“We all know Ibrahim Traore is now a global icon, so if you’re making a movie about him, you should take advantage of this to make the movie in English or pidgin and make it a serious movie. Instead, you have turned it into a comedy. The fact that you’re a comedian does not mean everything you do must be comedy.”

The critic stated that failing to address these oversights would make the movie a waste of money and effort. “This movie will flop; it is dead on arrival. Based on what we’ve seen so far, the movie will not make any impact,” he added.
