Receiving the honour on behalf of the bank were Ida Appiah, Head of Credit Analysis and Processing, and Enoch Vanderpuye, Country Team Lead for Marketing and Corporate Communications. Their presence reflected the Bank’s team-oriented leadership and commitment to excellence.

About 40 organisations and individuals were recognised at the awards ceremony for their contributions to economic growth and sectoral advancement across Ghana and the wider West African region. The awards placed strong emphasis on innovation, sustainability, and corporate social responsibility—principles that align closely with FirstBank Ghana’s values.

In a statement following the ceremony, FirstBank highlighted that the award represents more than just recognition—it is a testament to its strategic direction and continuous efforts to embrace innovative banking solutions.

Driving Transformation Through Technology

At the heart of FirstBank Ghana’s success is its commitment to innovation. The bank has rolled out a range of initiatives designed to transform the banking experience and address the evolving needs of customers in today’s digital era.

Among the most significant technological upgrades is the migration to the Finacle 11.x Core Banking Application, a robust system that enhances operational stability and streamlines service delivery. In addition, the deployment of intelligent cabling infrastructure has improved network connectivity, facilitating smoother and faster banking operations.

Security has also remained a top priority. The Bank has implemented multifactor authentication and advanced transaction monitoring systems to safeguard customer data and financial transactions, reinforcing trust and reliability in its digital platforms.

Enhancing the Digital Banking Experience

FirstBank Ghana is not resting on its laurels. Looking ahead, the bank is poised to introduce a host of new digital products and services aimed at providing customers with convenient, efficient, and secure banking solutions.

The planned launch of mobile banking enhancements and AI-powered financial advisory services signals a bold move toward personalising the banking experience for its clients. These services will empower users to make more informed financial decisions and access support anytime, anywhere.

Victor Yaw Asante, Managing Director and CEO of FirstBank Ghana, expressed heartfelt appreciation for the recognition. “This award is a demonstration of our steadfast commitment to innovation and excellence in banking,” he stated.

“At FirstBank, we believe that by harnessing technology, we can empower our customers and provide them with unparalleled financial services. We are dedicated to continuing our journey of transformation and look forward to leading the way in Ghana’s digital banking revolution.”

The Ghana-West Africa Business Excellence Awards, organised by KN Unique Communications and endorsed by the West Africa Chamber of Commerce and Industry alongside Strategic Accountancy Africa, serve as an influential platform to highlight businesses that are making a real difference in their industries.

For FirstBank Ghana, the award is a validation of its efforts to combine innovation with resilience while playing a critical role in the financial ecosystem of Ghana and West Africa. The Bank reaffirmed its commitment to delivering best-in-class financial services and building a future-ready institution capable of navigating the complexities of the modern banking sector.Top of Form
