English Football Club, Tottenham Hotspur, has reportedly prepared a major move for Ghanaian midfield star Mohammed Kudus in the ongoing summer transfer window, as the North London club looks to reinforce its squad ahead of the 2025/26 football season.

Sources from UK media suggest that Spurs are ready to test West Ham United’s resolve with a substantial bid in the region of £50 million for the 23-year-old attacking midfielder.

The club sees Kudus as a central piece in their rebuilding strategy under new manager Thomas Frank, who is tasked with revitalising Tottenham following a lacklustre performance last season in the Premier League.

Since joining West Ham United from Ajax in the summer of 2023, the Ghanaian international has impressed both fans and analysts alike with his technical brilliance, versatility, and knack for scoring vital goals.

Capable of operating as an attacking midfielder, winger, or even a forward, Kudus has quickly become one of the most sought-after players in English football.

In just two seasons with the Hammers, Kudus has had 80 appearances across all competitions, netting 19 goals and providing 13 assists. His ability to unlock defences, dictate the tempo, and contribute defensively makes him a standout performer and an asset to any top-tier side.

Even though Tottenham finished outside the top four last season, they have still qualified for the Champions League because of their Europa League triumph.

They are eager to add creativity and firepower to their midfield; an area that struggled for consistency throughout the campaign.

Kudus is thus seen as the kind of dynamic talent who can help restore the club’s competitive edge both domestically and in Europe.

Price Tag; A Stumbling Block

While Tottenham are reportedly ready to table a £50 million offer, Kudus’s contract with West Ham contains a release clause set at £85 million. This clause, which can be triggered at any point during the transfer window, places West Ham in a strong negotiating position.

So far, Kudus has not expressed a desire to leave the Hammers, where he has found both playing time and a central role in the squad. West Ham, too, are not under financial pressure to sell and may demand the full release clause to part ways with their prized asset.

Nonetheless, Spurs are said to be optimistic that a structured offer, possibly including performance-related bonuses and add-ons, could sway the east London club into entering negotiations.

Tottenham are not alone in their pursuit of the Ghanaian star. Premier League rivals Arsenal and Newcastle United are also monitoring Kudus’s situation closely, with both clubs reportedly considering formal approaches.

For Arsenal, Kudus presents a possible addition to a midfield unit that is already brimming with quality but in need of depth and rotation options. Mikel Arteta is believed to be an admirer of the former Ajax playmaker’s versatility and flair.

Newcastle, on the other hand, are building an ambitious project under Eddie Howe and have both the financial muscle and long-term sporting vision to lure talents like Kudus to St James’ Park.

The Magpies are looking to add depth to their attacking midfield and right-wing positions; both areas where Kudus thrives.

Tottenham’s new manager Thomas Frank, who joined from Brentford after the 2024/25 season, is known for developing young talents and implementing an aggressive, high-intensity style of play.

His presence is believed to be a major factor in the club’s renewed interest in Kudus, whom he views as a player capable of adapting seamlessly to his system.

Spurs have already begun reshaping their squad, with reports linking them to several other targets across Europe.
