Renowned Ghanaian musician Stonebwoy has publicly addressed the growing wave of misinformation and toxicity he encounters on X (formerly Twitter), shedding light on the darker realities of social media.
In a candid statement shared on the platform, Stonebwoy expressed frustration over the pervasive negativity and the difficulty in managing false narratives.
“There’s so much going on. I don’t even know where to start or how to address the level of toxicity or negativity that we find on X.”

The dancehall artist highlighted the complex dynamics where misinformation often serves as a tool for gaining attention and fleeting fame.
“They expect you to come after them immediately, and once you do, they become popular. They really get what they want — the fame part of it.”

He also emphasized the role of his legal team in addressing defamatory claims.
While many choose to ignore baseless attacks, he stressed that truth eventually prevails, saying, “The truth comes out eventually, and people realize they were just being foolish.”
Reflecting on the broader behavior of social media users, Stonebwoy remarked that some individuals seem to engage in toxic actions purely for amusement, unleashing what he described as “every toxic inheritance in their lineage” on social platforms.
He further criticized the media and public for quickly amplifying controversies stirred online, noting, “Everybody moves toward that conversation. The media picks it up, and it just gets loud.”
Asamoah Gyan Reportedly Blocks Stonebwoy

The award-winning reggae/dancehall sensation opened up about his current relationship with former Black Stars captain Asamoah Gyan.
In a video that has since gone viral on social media, the ‘Jejereje’ hitmaker revealed that things between him and the retired football icon are no longer as they used to be.
Speaking candidly, Stonebwoy, born Livingstone Etse Satekla, shared that despite once being close, he recently discovered Gyan had blocked him on social media.
“I have big brothers I respect a lot. I have Emmanuel Adebayor as one of those [I respect], and of course, Asamoah Gyan. He has been a big brother from time. I hardly hear from him lately, but the last time I checked, I was blocked. I don’t know.”

Even with the silent treatment, the BHIM Nation boss insisted he still holds the ex-footballer in high regard and considers him a long-time ally.
Stonebwoy’s remarks about his strained relationship with Asamoah Gyan triggered reactions from Ghanaians, who recounted the musician’s former associate Ayisha Modi’s recent allegations.

In a rant on TikTok, she alleged that the dancehall musician was ungrateful to Asamoah Gyan after the retired legendary footballer paid for the cost of his leg surgery many years ago.
Ayisha Modi claimed that the Black Stars legend used to call her and bitterly complain about Stonebwoy’s lack of appreciation for the good deed he did for him.
Ayisha Modi claimed that the dancehall artist only publicly showed appreciation to Asamoah Gyan after she instructed him to do so.
She said the dancehall musician gave a poor appreciation speech to Gyan during a radio interview after the retired footballer ignored his calls many times.
Stonebwoy’s revelation sparked plenty of reactions online. While some sympathised with him, others sided with Gyan or simply found humour in the situation.
@Dawson_Blaud slammed the former Black Stars captain: “Asamoah Gyan is an emotional guy; that’s why he talks plenty when he’s pissed.”
@Natold_69 aimed a dig at Stonebwoy: “Asamoah Gyan doesn’t need fake niggas around him.”
@quabena_john sided with Gyan’s silent treatment of the BHIM Nation boss: “He should block him again.”
“Stonebwoy has also blocked someone, which is normal. 🫵🏿”
