Ghanaian rapper Tinny has finally spoken up about the mystery collaboration American rapper Ja Rule mentioned during his visit to Ghana earlier this year.
Ja Rule made headlines after revealing that he once recorded a track with a Ghanaian artist about a decade ago, but couldn’t remember the artist’s name.
According to Ja Rule, the track was recorded here [Ghana], adding that it was “dope.”
Shortly after the interview aired, an old video of Ja Rule and Tinny in a recording session resurfaced online, confirming the collaboration. The song they recorded, titled “Good Time Rules,” was produced during Tinny’s time with Madtime Entertainment, a label that played a pivotal role in the rapper’s career.
However, Tinny confirmed that he is the artist Ja Rule was referring to. “It was me that he was talking about,” Tinny said. He explained that although the studio session happened years ago, they were unable to reconnect after recording the track.

According to the singer, the collaboration came through Maddhaus Entertainment, and for that reason, “the label owns the song.”
The Ghanaian hiplife musician mentioned that he has a copy of the song, but he’s unsure whether the song was ever released. “I don’t even know where the song is,” he added.
On the possibility of releasing the song now, Tinny responded, “No. If anything sef, I have to consult the label first.”
The collaboration took place during a high point in the ‘Anaconda’ hitmaker’s career when he was releasing back-to-back hits like ‘Makola Kwakwe’, ‘Anaconda’, ‘Obi Do Ba’, ‘Ringtone’, and ‘Zingolo’.
Tinny Gets Male Proposals Despite Denial

The Ghanaian rapper, born Nii Addo Quaynor, broke his silence on recurring rumours suggesting he is gay.
According to him, although he has heard such claims countless times, he is not bothered because he knows they are untrue.
Tinny firmly stated, “I’m not gay,” but admitted that men often send him romantic messages online. “I haven’t proposed to any man before, but I’ve had several men enter my DM to propose to me and all that,” he said.
The ‘Makola Kwakwe’ hitmaker joked that it could be because of his looks, reason people might assume he is gay. “Maybe because I’m handsome,” he said with a smile.
Despite the persistent speculation about his sexuality, the singer made it clear that he is unfazed by public opinion.
“I’ve heard it countless times, and when I do, I’m happy. You are thinking I am, and I’m not, so I don’t really care. Like, who are you? I don’t worry my head about that.”

Touching on his views about homosexuality, the rapper said he doesn’t have any issues with people who identify as gay. “They are in their world, and I don’t mind. It’s their choice,” he noted.
He added that he would not end a friendship with someone who came out to him. “Why not? It’s the person’s choice. He’s also human, and they are in their world,” Tinny stated.

Moreover, the hiplife musician advised dancehall artist musician, Shatta Wale, to clapback at anyone who wrongly criticises him.
Tinny described Shatta Wale as a peaceful person who does not attack people without reason. He emphasised that the musician should go all out and slam anyone who tarnishes his reputation.
“I tell him to go all out. He should attack anyone who attacks him. Also, he should be at peace with anyone who is equally at peace with him. This isn’t about the Ga tribe because that is how everyone should live. He shouldn’t tolerate any form of nonsense, and that is the best way.”

Tinny’s comment has sparked mass reactions on social media, with some netizens in support of the Hiplife musician’s statement.
While others are supporting the singer’s statement, some netizens are slamming the host for his line of questioning.
An account on X with the username @WKHKYD noted, “What does this Nana Romeo want from this Shatta? He just wants to trend with Shatta, so at every opportunity, he wants to mention Shatta’s name to tarnish his name.”
