NFL star Travis Kelce has broken his silence following the long-awaited announcement of his engagement to Taylor Swift, which was revealed to the world.
Speaking on his New Heights podcast with brother Jason Kelce, the newly engaged sports star admitted he risks annoying Swifties as he continues to listen to her new album ahead of its release in October.
The 35-year-old let slip how Taylor Swift felt after making her podcast debut on his show earlier this month, and revealed his fiancée dropped a few Easter eggs during her chat with him and Jason – seemingly confirming a fan theory about the theme of ‘The Life Of A Showgirl’.
Taylor and Travis confirmed their engagement last night in a joint Instagram post showing the Kansas City Chiefs tight end proposing. The announcement revealed the pair embracing in a garden and read: “Your English teacher and your gym teacher are getting married.”
In the latest episode of New Heights, titled A Swift Debrief, Travis’ Preseason Prep and Starting Shedeur, Jason shared a brief message for his brother and future sister-in-law, screaming “Congratulations, Taylor and Travis” before the pre-recorded episode played out.
Taylor announced that her 12th studio album, ‘The Life Of A Showgirl’, would be released on October 3 on Travis’ New Heights podcast.
Jason and Travis began their first show since Taylor’s cameo, discussing the reaction to her bombshell career news and letting slip some details about ‘The Life Of A Showgirl’.
“I’m going to go ahead and keep poking the bear to all the Swifties – I keep listening to this album. I know she mentioned that it’s going to be a lot more pop beats, but it’s still so poetic with her melodies and her references. It’s so much fun to listen to, man. I’ve been dancing all throughout the house.”

“It’s music, Jason. You can listen to it any time of the day,” Travis stated after his sibling asked him about the vibe of Taylor’s new album and how it should be consumed. “It’s good stuff.”
Discussing how Taylor Swift felt after recording the podcast, Travis revealed his future wife left “walked away absolutely ecstatic and excited and happy that she came on here and had her first podcast experience with me and you, man”.
Grilling his sibling, Jason then asked if Taylor was happy with the reaction. “She walked away flying around, she was having so much fun,” Travis admitted. “She got to tell everyone about the album and drop a few Easter eggs and see if anyone caught on.”
“So there are Easter eggs!” Jason excitedly exclaimed, causing Travis. “What’s that Pinocchio doing behind you?” Jason continued to probe.
“Is it still there?” Travis coyly replied. “You’ll see it on there. Little Pinocchio in a Jiminy Cricket. Who is Jiminy Cricket in Pinocchio? What does it represent? Aren’t they Disney movies? Disney characters?” Jason mused before the subject was swiftly changed.
Before Travis and Jason’s telling comments, Swifties were already convinced that ‘The Life Of A Showgirl’ would reference fairy tales like Peter Pan and Pinocchio and act as a musical moral fable.
“There were so many clues on the podcast and album announcement that ‘The Life of a Showgirl’ will incorporate the story of Pinocchio,” one fan mused on Reddit earlier this month.
Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift’s love story began after the sports star announced on his New Heights podcast two years ago that he wanted to date the billionaire pop star, after he failed to meet her when she performed at Arrowhead Stadium, home of the Chiefs.
Since she began dating him, Taylor has regularly attended Chiefs matches to watch her fiancé, and was booed by the heavily pro-Philadelphia Eagles crowd when shown on the video boards as the two teams played at the Super Bowl in New Orleans in February.
The news of their engagement comes after Taylor unveiled her 12th studio album, ‘The Life Of A Showgirl’, which she spoke about on Kelce’s New Heights podcast.

President Donald Trump joined music lovers around the world in reacting to the news of pop superstar Taylor Swift and NFL player Travis Kelce’s engagement.
Reports disclosed that Trump was in a cabinet meeting when the engagement was announced.
A trending video captured the moment a journalist asked the US President about his thoughts on Taylor Swift and Kelce’s engagement.
“Well, I wish them a lot of luck,” he said. “I think he’s a great player, I think he’s a great guy, and I think that she’s a terrific person,” Trump added.
The Independent UK reported in 2024 that Trump declared his hatred for Swift after she endorsed Kamala Harris in the 2024 presidential election.
Swift’s endorsement of the former vice president came after the conclusion of the first and only presidential debate between Harris and Trump.
