The attendees of the Arab-Islamic Emergency Summit on the Israeli Aggression against the State of Qatar have adopted their final statement.
The statement asserted that Israel’s brutal aggression against Qatar undermines any prospects for peace in the region. “We condemn in the strongest terms Israel’s cowardly and illegal attack on the State of Qatar,” the leaders stated.
In the statement, the leaders stressed absolute rejection of attempts to justify the Israeli aggression under any pretext, as well as absolute rejection of Israel’s repeated threats of the possibility of targeting Qatar again.
The leaders expressed absolute solidarity with Qatar and support for its steps to respond, noting that an attack “on a neutral mediation venue undermines international peacemaking processes.”
Also, the leaders hailed Qatar’s “civilised and wise stance in dealing with the treacherous attack.” They voiced support for the efforts of mediators Qatar, Egypt and the United States to stop the aggression in Gaza. The statement expressed praise for Qatar’s constructive and appreciated role in mediation and support for establishing security.
Majed bin Mohammed al-Ansari, Qatar’s Foreign Ministry spokesperson, said that the summit represents the unity of the Arab Islamic ranks.

“Arab and Muslim leaders have come together to express their unified stance against the Israeli attack on Qatar. They asserted that the attack on an Islamic and Arab country and member of the UN is an unprecedented escalation and a threat to international peace and security.”

He asserted that the emergency summit in Doha is “not a dependency summit, but a message to the entire world that as Arab and Islamic countries, we reject any aggression, and we assert that the Palestinian cause would remain central until the Palestinian people regain their full rights.”
Additionally, Jasem Mohamed Albudaiwi, Secretary General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), said that the summit and its proceedings reflect “the status, respect, and appreciation enjoyed by Qatar.”
He added that the summit affirmed the Gulf’s solidarity with Qatar and that an attack on any country is an attack on the entire Council.
He also delivered a message to Washington while responding to reporters’ questions.
“We expect our strategic partners in the US to use their influence on Israel for it to stop this behaviour – we really do expect that.
“They have leverage and influence over Israel, and it’s about time that this leverage and influence are used.”

GCC To Activate Joint Defence Mechanisms After Israel’s Attack On Qatar
The Gulf Cooperation Council’s Supreme Council said that it “condemned in the strongest terms the Israeli attack and the flagrant violation of the sovereignty” of Qatar and that it will assess the GCC’s defence posture and activate “joint defence mechanisms and Gulf deterrent capabilities.”
In a communique issued after holding an extraordinary session at the Arab-Islamic summit in Doha, the Supreme Council affirmed the full solidarity of the GCC states with the State of Qatar in all measures it takes to confront this attack.
It stressed that the security of the GCC states is indivisible, and that any attack on any one of them is an attack on them all, in accordance with the GCC Charter and the Joint Defence Agreement.
It said the GCC’s military bodies will hold an urgent meeting to “assess the defensive posture of the GCC states” and to instruct the Unified Military Command “to take the necessary executive measures to activate joint defence mechanisms and Gulf deterrent capabilities,” without providing further details.
The Supreme Council said that Israel’s attack impedes the intensive efforts undertaken by the State of Qatar and its role in mediating a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip, the release of hostages and detainees, and the alleviation of the suffering of the “brotherly Palestinian people.”
