Ghanaian musician Shatta Wale has called on business mogul Ibrahim Mahama to help him celebrate his birthday this year.
On October 7, 2025, Shatta Wale will be 41 years old. During a recent live TikTok interaction, the ‘On God’ hitmaker expressed his admiration for the Engineers and Planners founder, Ibrahim Mahama, who is one of Ghana’s wealthiest people.
The renowned industrialist and brother of Ghana’s President, John Dramani Mahama, is one of the few people in the country who own private jets.
News of his plane, a Bombardier 604 luxury jet named Dzata, first came up when the New York Times reported in 2014 that the US had flagged the aircraft for a trip to Iran.
The musician has long idolised Ibrahim Mahama and his brother, the President. In an interview, Shatta Wale established that Ibrahim Mahama and his brother had a deep love and empathy for the streets.

Speaking about his upcoming 41st birthday, the ‘Minamino Sin’ hitmaker called Ibrahim Mahama his uncle as he tried to appeal to his good and philanthropic nature. “Hon Ibrahim Mahama, next month is my birthday. I want your private jet. I want to drive it myself,” he said.
The musician plans to have a blast for his 41st birthday celebration.

Shatta Wale Explains Absence From Asantehemaa’s Funeral

The Ghanaian dancehall artist heaped praises on the Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, while also clarifying his absence from the four-day Dote Yie [traditional burial rites] of the late Asantehemaa, Nana Konadu Yiadom III, which concluded on September 18, 2025.
Speaking during a TikTok live session, Shatta Wale explained that his decision not to attend the funeral was out of caution.
According to him, he did not receive an official invitation and was concerned that showing uo uninvited could be misinterpreted by the public.
“I wanted to attend the funeral, but nobody invited me. I didn’t want to show up uninvited and have people think I was there to misbehave, so I honoured the occasion from my home instead.”

Before addressing the Asantehene directly, Shatta Wale stood up from his chair three times during the live session, a gesture he said was out of deep respect for Otumfuo Osei Tutu II.
He praised the King for his integrity, calling him a ruler who always speaks the truthand stands for the people of Asante Kingdom.
“Otumfuo, you need to fear him because he does not lie to the Asante Kingdom and stands firm for his people. If I were in Kumasi, they would have to give me a job. Every morning, I would go to sweep in front of Manhyia Palace. Even if they asked me to sweep there three times a year, I would do it to learn and seek blessings from that royalty he represents.”

The musician added that beyond his admiration for Otumfuo’s leadership, he also likes the King’s embodiment of culture and tradition. “Do you think Otumfuo didn’t go to school? He did receive an education, but do you see how dignified he looks in his traditional attire?” he added.
