Award-winning Ghanaian rapper and entrepreneur Sarkodie is ready to shake up the music scene once again!
The multi-award-winning artist has revealed that he’s entering a new partnership to kickstart a full label service, reminiscent of the days of Sarkcess Music.
Sarkodie reflected on the challenges of signing and managing artists in Ghana, revealing why he previously took a step back from running a label.
“When you sign an artist, you’re technically almost responsible for their life. It’s not supposed to be like that, but that’s what it is, especially where we’re from in Ghana.
“It is interesting how people can face worse situations and wouldn’t have to complain, yet you have to take the blame for everything that happens in their personal life once you’re around.”

Despite those challenges, the rapper remains committed to nurturing new talent and building the next generation of stars.
“That, however, doesn’t mean I’m not going to help. I get fulfilled when I see something and bring it to light. I moved away from signing artists because of how fully I have to be involved, but we just had a new partnership where we’re about to start a full label service again, like how we did Sarkcess Music, so we’re still looking for talent.”

Sarkodie also revealed he has his eyes on a few talents but would not disclose them yet.
“I have my eyes on a few, but I’m not going to mention any names until we’re able to get them involved and have the business side sorted,” he shared. As part of the initiative, Sarkodie also revealed plans to host a writing camp, which he believes is a more organic way to identify genuine talent.
“I’m doing a writing camp. I’ll put the date out. That’s a nice way for me to spot talents, because then we spend time together so I can know the work ethic, vocal ability, star power and more.”
