Hon. Cletus Seidu Dapilah Sworn in as NEDCo Board Chairman

Honorable Cletus Seidu Dapilah, the Member of Parliament for the Jirapa constituency, has been sworn in as the new Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Northern Electricity Distribution Company (NEDCo).

This appointment comes with a mandate to steer the utility company towards achieving significant development for Ghana’s energy sector.

“With a clear mandate to distribute affordable, reliable and accessible electricity to its customers, my colleagues and I are determined to provide the much-needed advice, support and strategic guidance anchored on the reset agenda and vision of HE President John Dramani Mahama ably supported by the sector Minister, Hon John Abdulai Jinapor.”

Parts of northern sector over the few months, have been confronted with frequent power outages and unstable power flow as a result of malfunctioning of some machines in NEDCo’s Yendi branch which supplies power to Bimbilla, Kpandai and part of Oti region.

While, power seemed to be steadily stable in the country particularly, the southern sector over the past few months. This new role entrusted under Mr. Cletus’ care, compels him to assiduously work hard to see to it that NEDCo’s jurisdiction especially this underserved areas achieve and enjoy a stable power in proportion to other parts of the country.

Speaking on his new role, Hon. Dapilah expressed his gratitude and enthusiasm for the opportunity.

“I was honored and privileged to have been sworn into office as the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Northern Electricity Distribution Company- NEDCo.”

He further emphasized the board’s determination to provide the “much needed advice, support and strategic guidance anchored on the reset agenda and vision of President John Dramani Mahama ably supported by the sector Minister, Hon John Abdulai Jinapor.”

The “reset agenda” as emphasized by Hon. Dapilah  signifies  the strategic vision of the current administration, led by John Dramani Mahama, to revitalize and transform the energy sector in Ghana.

As the new NEDCo Board Chairman, Hon. Dapilah and his colleagues will play a crucial role in aligning the company’s operations and strategies with this overarching reset agenda, ensuring that the utility provider remains responsive to the needs of its customers and the broader development goals of the nation.
