Zenith Bank Ghana has reached a remarkable milestone — twenty years of transforming lives, businesses, and the financial landscape of Ghana.
For two decades, Zenith Bank Ghana has exemplified innovation, service excellence, and strong governance, positioning itself as one of the most respected financial institutions in the country. The Health Walk was not only a celebration of the bank’s achievements but also a symbolic reflection of its journey — one marked by endurance, teamwork, and shared progress.
To mark the occasion, the bank organized a Health Walk at its headquarters in Accra. The event, themed “20 Years of Impact, A Lifetime of Shared Growth,” brought together staff, customers, shareholders, partners, and members of the business community in a colourful display of unity, vitality, and corporate strength.
A Walk Down Memory Lane
Addressing participants at the event, the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Zenith Bank Ghana, Mr. Henry Onwuzurigbo, expressed deep pride and gratitude for how far the institution has come since its establishment.
“Twenty years ago, we began a journey fuelled by vision, driven by innovation, and anchored in service excellence. Today, we have walked to honour the strides we have made — strides that have transformed the banking landscape in Ghana and elevated the Zenith brand to one of strength, innovation, and trust.”
Mr. Henry Onwuzurigbo
From its humble beginnings in 2005 with assets of less than GHS 65 million, Zenith Bank Ghana has grown into a financial powerhouse with total assets exceeding GHS 22.5 billion as of the second quarter of 2025. The bank’s shareholders’ funds have surged to GHS 2.6 billion, underscoring its financial solidity and resilience. In addition, Zenith Bank continues to maintain a strong capital adequacy ratio well above regulatory requirements — a testament to prudent management and sound corporate governance.

A Legacy Built on Innovation and Trust
Over the years, Zenith Bank Ghana has built a strong reputation for technological advancement and customer-focused solutions. Its continuous investment in digital banking infrastructure, from mobile banking to internet banking and agency networks, has redefined convenience for customers and enhanced operational efficiency.
According to Mr. Onwuzurigbo, these achievements are “not just figures on a balance sheet, but the reflection of dedication, innovation, and the unwavering belief of our customers and partners in the Zenith vision.” The bank’s journey has also been shaped by its commitment to ethical leadership, superior service delivery, and sustainability — all of which have contributed to its dominance in the Ghanaian financial sector.
As part of its 20th anniversary celebrations, Zenith Bank reaffirmed its promise to stay at the forefront of technological transformation. The CEO emphasized that the next chapter will focus on deepening customer relationships, leveraging artificial intelligence (AI) and data analytics, and expanding financial inclusion to reach underserved communities.
Partnerships and Community Engagement
The 20th anniversary Health Walk was more than a fitness event — it was a celebration of partnership and social responsibility. The walk featured participation from the Graphic Communications Group, which is commemorating its 75th anniversary, and members of the Ghana Wheelchair Basketball Federation, whose presence highlighted the importance of inclusivity and community support.
Mr. Onwuzurigbo acknowledged these organizations for their long-standing collaboration with Zenith Bank. He noted that the bank’s growth has been anchored not only in financial success but also in strong relationships with stakeholders who share its values of excellence, partnership, and progress.
“We walk today not only to celebrate our success but also to appreciate every individual, every partner, and every customer who has been part of our story. Together, we have built a legacy that continues to shape Ghana’s financial future.”
Mr. Henry Onwuzurigbo
Commitment to the Future
As Zenith Bank Ghana looks to the next two decades, the leadership remains committed to pursuing greater innovation, operational excellence, and customer satisfaction. Mr. Onwuzurigbo emphasized that the future of banking will demand more agility, digital transformation, and human-centred innovation, and Zenith is ready to meet those demands head-on.
“As we look ahead, we do so with renewed energy and ambition. The next 20 years will demand even more innovation, agility, and heart. But if history has taught us anything, it is that Zenith Bank Ghana does not just rise to the occasion — we redefine it.”
Mr. Henry Onwuzurigbo
The CEO’s message captured the spirit of the bank — forward-looking, resilient, and ever-evolving. As the Ghanaian economy continues to modernize and diversify, Zenith Bank Ghana aims to remain a key partner in driving sustainable growth, supporting businesses, and empowering communities.
The symbolic Health Walk through the streets of Accra underscored Zenith Bank’s dedication to promoting wellness, teamwork, and community engagement. Staff and participants wore the bank’s signature colours, creating a vibrant atmosphere that reflected both celebration and unity. The event concluded with fun activities, music, and networking sessions that strengthened camaraderie among participants.
