This is not a one-off intervention. It signifies the government is committed to a comprehensive, long-term strategy to eradicate illegal mining and retrieve our precious natural resources.
The expansion of NAIMOS’ operations to the Western North and Ashanti regions reflects the administration’s unwavering resolve to leave no part of the country untouched in its pursuit of environmental protection and sustainable development.
Cooperation and Engagement

The NAIMOS operations rely on a collaborative approach, involving various law enforcement agencies, local authorities, and community stakeholders.
NAIMOS works closely with the security forces, the Forestry Commission, the Minerals Commission, and other relevant agencies to ensure a coordinated and effective response to illegal mining activities.
This interagency cooperation is crucial in enhancing the task force’s intelligence-gathering capabilities, strengthening enforcement measures, and ensuring the seamless implementation of anti-galamsey initiatives across different regions.
Moreover, the government’s efforts also encompass community engagement, recognizing the vital role that local residents play in safeguarding their environments.
As the NAIMOS operations expand to the Western North and Ashanti regions, the government’s comprehensive approach to combating galamsey continues to evolve, combining enforcement, community engagement, sustainable development, and judicial reforms.
