The Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPC Ltd) has reaffirmed its commitment to driving global energy equity and sustainable investment through strategic partnerships at the ongoing Abu Dhabi International Petroleum Exhibition and Conference (ADIPEC 2025), one of the world’s most prestigious energy gatherings.

Leading the company’s high-level delegation, Group Chief Executive Officer, Engr. Bashir Bayo Ojulari, underscored NNPC’s transformation into a commercially driven global energy enterprise focused on collaboration, innovation, and inclusion in Africa’s energy transition.

Engr. Ojulari joined a closed-door session of the Global Oil Club, an exclusive forum comprising executives from leading energy corporations and policy institutions. Addressing the session, he called for a paradigm shift in global energy investment strategies, particularly in the developing world.

“Africa’s energy future must be built on collaboration, innovation, and inclusion.

“NNPC Limited stands ready to co-create solutions that will deliver real impact.”

The participation of the NNPC board leadership highlighted the company’s commitment to a unified front in promoting Nigeria’s strategic interests in the global energy landscape.

He emphasized that bridging the energy poverty gap across Africa requires equitable access to financing, technology, and capacity-building.

Engr. Ojulari reiterated that NNPC Ltd is committed to fostering co-investment models that de-risk energy infrastructure and support shared prosperity across the continent.

His remarks come at a time when African energy companies are pushing for greater autonomy and fair representation in global energy governance.

The theme for ADIPEC 2025, “Energy Intelligence Impact” mirrors NNPC Limited’s ongoing transformation agenda, which seeks to position the company as a world-class, commercially competitive national energy corporation.

Throughout the opening day of the conference, Engr. Ojulari and his team held strategic meetings with top global energy leaders, exploring potential collaborations in gas infrastructure development, decarbonisation initiatives, and upstream investments.

Discussions reportedly focused on opportunities for joint ventures in gas pipeline expansion, carbon capture technologies, and enhanced oil recovery projects aimed at achieving efficiency and environmental balance.

Representing NNPC’s upstream operations, Executive Vice President, Upstream, Mr. Udy Ntia, participated in a Global Strategy Session themed “Beyond the Barrel: The Future of Upstream Strategy.”

In his remarks, Mr. Ntia reaffirmed NNPC Limited’s readiness to co-invest in transformative upstream solutions, while maintaining alignment with Nigeria’s national energy security objectives and regional production targets.

“NNPC is positioning itself not just as a national operator, but as a global partner that contributes meaningfully to the world’s energy transition.

“Our upstream strategy is focused on innovation, efficiency, and sustainable development.”
