The Minister of Works, Housing and Water Resources, Honourable Kenneth Gilbert Adjei has described the Tema Integrated Industrial Park as a transformative national project that marks a significant shift in Ghana’s industrial agenda. He stated that the initiative represents a strategic move towards building a more productive and resilient economy.
Addressing dignitaries at the sod cutting ceremony in Tema, Honourable Adjei indicated that the project extends far beyond physical construction. The Minister explained that the development lays the groundwork for long term industrial expansion and stronger economic competitiveness.
Discussing the significance of the project, Honourable Adjei said the industrial park will accelerate value addition across key sectors of the economy. He noted that increased industrial activity remains essential for sustainable job creation and enterprise growth.

Focusing on national economic transformation, the Minister stressed that meaningful prosperity must be rooted in production, innovation and strategic infrastructure investment.
Additionally, Honourable Adjei commended President John Dramani Mahama for championing industrialisation as a national priority. He stated that the President’s vision seeks to position Ghana as a leading industrial hub within West Africa.
He also pointed out the strategic importance of Tema in Ghana’s industrial future. Honourable Adjei observed that the city remains a natural gateway for logistics, trade and manufacturing expansion.

Moreover, the project is expected to strengthen industrial efficiency by improving infrastructure readiness for investors. The Minister noted that such investments create the environment needed for sustained economic growth.
He further stressed on the wider impact on local enterprise. Honourable Adjei explained that stronger industrial ecosystems will create opportunities for both established manufacturers and emerging businesses.
In addition, he emphasised that the industrial park stands as a concrete expression of Ghana’s development ambition. Honourable Adjei ultimately affirmed that the project signals a decisive step towards a stronger industrial future.
Strategic Partnerships To Drive Jobs and Export Growth
Strategic collaboration between government and private sector partners is expected to unlock major economic opportunities through the Tema Integrated Industrial Park. Officials say the initiative will boost manufacturing, expand exports and deepen local production networks.
Discussing the partnership structure, Honourable Adjei highlighted the roles of TDC Ghana Limited, Ghana Integrated Aluminium Development Corporation and Arise Integrated Industrial Platforms. He stated that their combined expertise strengthens confidence in the project’s long term viability.
Furthermore, the Minister explained that the collaboration will deliver world class industrial infrastructure to support manufacturing, processing and logistics. This framework, he said, is designed to attract investment and expand production capacity.

Similarly, Honourable Adjei stated that the industrial park aligns strongly with government’s 24 hour economy policy. Continuous industrial operations, he noted, will enhance productivity while improving infrastructure utilisation across multiple shifts.

An important aspect of the initiative lies in employment creation. The Minister indicated that thousands of decent jobs are expected to emerge across production, logistics and support services.
Additionally, the development is projected to strengthen small and medium sized enterprises. He explained that deeper local value chains will create greater participation for Ghanaian businesses in industrial production.
Focusing on the community impact in Tema and surrounding areas, Honourable Adjei urged young people to prepare themselves to seize opportunities in skills development, entrepreneurship and employment.
