Netflix has officially renewed Tyler Perry’s hit drama Beauty in Black for a third and final season, bringing Kimmie’s turbulent journey with the powerful Bellarie family to a dramatic close.
The announcement, made in December 2025 ahead of Season 2 Part 2’s premiere, offers fans both celebration and a bittersweet farewell to one of the streamer’s most addictive recent series.
The series, created, directed, and executive produced by Tyler Perry, premiered its first season in October 2024 and quickly captured audiences with its blend of high-stakes drama, family betrayals, revenge plots, and glamorous yet cutthroat world of a beauty empire intertwined with darker criminal undercurrents.
At its center is Kimmie, played by Taylor Polidore Williams, a resilient exotic dancer from Chicago who becomes entangled with the dysfunctional Bellarie family behind the Beauty in Black hair-care and cosmetics dynasty.
Polidore Williams has teased what’s ahead. “Next season you start to see Kimmie step fully into her power with all of the support she needs,” she said in a Netflix Tudum interview. By the end of Season 2, “the entire power structure shifts,” and Kimmie transitions “from surviving to playing the game. And once she does that … nobody in the family) is safe.”
Crystle Stewart, who portrays Mallory Bellarie, the ambitious and formidable face of the brand, echoed the heightened stakes. “The tension, the drama, and the power struggles are only going to deepen from here,” Stewart noted. “Viewers are going to see these characters pushed further than ever before.”
The Season 2 finale sets up explosive confrontations, with Kimmie, Mallory, and Horace Bellarie (Ricco Ross) uniting against other family members involved in nefarious dealings, including turning several over to the FBI.
The renewal comes as the show continues to build momentum. Season 1 saw Kimmie navigate survival, ambition, and shocking revelations about trafficking and corporate deceit. Season 2 deepened the alliances and rivalries, culminating in boardroom showdowns and shifting loyalties.

With Season 3 positioned as the conclusion reportedly featuring around six episodes -the narrative promises an “epic conclusion” to Kimmie’s arc, according to Netflix.
Public Reaction
Industry observers point to the series’ success as a testament to Perry’s enduring appeal in soap-style drama tailored for modern streaming audiences. Perry’s signature style-fast-paced plotting, larger-than-life characters, and themes of empowerment, resilience, and justice has resonated globally.
The show frequently topped Netflix charts in multiple countries, appealing to viewers hungry for glossy yet gritty stories featuring strong Black leads.
Supporting cast members like Debbi Morgan, Richard Lawson, Julian Horton, Charles Malik Whitfield, and others have helped flesh out the sprawling Bellarie clan and its secrets. The ensemble’s chemistry, particularly the complex dynamic between Kimmie and Mallory from rivals to uneasy allies has been a highlight for fans.
Social media reaction has been mixed but passionate. Many celebrated the renewal while expressing sadness over the finality. “We need at least two more seasons,” one viewer commented on X, reflecting a common desire for more backstory on secondary characters. Others praised the decision to end on a high note rather than risk declining quality.
Hashtags like #BeautyInBlack and #FinalSeason trended following the news, with fans speculating about potential outcomes: Will Kimmie maintain her hard-won power? How far will Jules (Whitfield) go in his grief-driven pursuit? What ultimate price will the Bellaries pay?
For Polidore Williams, the role has been transformative. In interviews, she has spoken about the physical and emotional demands, including action sequences that resulted in minor injuries, and the empowerment of playing a character who evolves from vulnerability to authority. Stewart, a former Miss USA, brings her own poise and intensity to Mallory, a self-made woman navigating elite circles and family dysfunction.
Tyler Perry’s involvement ensures continuity in tone and vision. Known for his prolific output across film, television, and theater, Perry has built an empire by telling stories that center Black experiences with broad commercial appeal. Beauty in Black fits within his expanding Netflix slate, which includes other popular titles.
Netflix has not yet announced a release date, but anticipation is already building. In the meantime, new and returning viewers can stream Seasons 1 and 2 to catch up on the betrayals, boardroom battles, and jaw-dropping twists that have defined the series.
The decision to conclude with Season 3 allows the creative team to deliver a satisfying, high-impact ending rather than stretching the story indefinitely. In an era where many streaming shows run for multiple seasons, this planned finale stands out as a deliberate choice to prioritize narrative closure.

Fans can expect intensified drama, deeper explorations of power and its costs, and resolutions to lingering questions about loyalty, revenge, and redemption. As Polidore Williams reassured audiences, “waiting for the last chapter of the Beauty in Black saga will be worth it.”
The series joins a select group of Perry projects that have left a cultural mark, sparking conversations about ambition, survival, and the complexities of family- blood or chosen.
While the Bellarie empire’s saga is nearing its end, its impact on viewers and the broader television landscape will likely endure.
