The New Patriotic Party has intensified its call for the release of Dennis Miracles Aboagye as a large group of supporters gathered outside the headquarters of the Economic and Organised Crime Office in Accra. The supporters marched to the office on Monday, July 13, to demand information on his detention and call for his immediate release.

The gathering followed earlier announcements by senior party officials, including the Director of Communications of the New Patriotic Party, Richard Ahiagbah, and the National Organiser, Henry Nana Boakye, who urged supporters to join efforts to seek answers from the investigative body. The party members expressed solidarity with Dennis Miracles Aboagye and pressed authorities to provide clarity on the circumstances surrounding his arrest.

The gathering called on the Economic and Organised Crime Office to explain the reasons behind the detention of the party communicator. They argued that the matter require transparency as the party continues to seek information about his situation.

The demonstration came after reports that Dennis Miracles Aboagye was arrested at the Kotoka International Airport by officers of the Economic and Organised Crime Office with support from personnel of the Ghana Immigration Service. The development has generated discussions among party members, who have continued to demand answers from the relevant authorities.

According to the New Patriotic Party, the circumstances surrounding the arrest remain unclear and require further explanation from the investigative agency. The party has also alleged that Dennis Miracles Aboagye has faced challenges accessing his legal representatives since his arrest.

Furthermore, the supporters used the gathering to demonstrate their backing for the party communicator, who serves as a spokesperson for former Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia. The crowd called for a fair process and urged the authorities involved to address the issues raised by the party.

Arrest And Detention Of The Party Official

The arrest of Dennis Miracles Aboagye at the Kotoka International Airport has triggered questions over the procedure followed by state investigative agencies. The New Patriotic Party has since called for clarity on the circumstances that led to his detention after his return to the country.

According to the party executives, Dennis Miracles Aboagye returned to Ghana on Saturday after travelling outside the country. Officials alleged that personnel of the Ghana Immigration Service intercepted him at the airport before handing him over to officers of the Economic and Organised Crime Office.

The development was first made public by the General Secretary of the New Patriotic Party, Justin Frimpong Kodua, through a statement on social media. He alleged that the arrest was carried out without prior notice and called for the immediate release of the party communicator.

Furthermore, party executives stated that Dennis Miracles Aboagye has not received any invitation requiring him to report to the Economic and Organised Crime Office before his return to Ghana. They argued that a formal request would have provided an opportunity for him to cooperate with any ongoing investigation.
