Communications Officer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Sammy Gyamfi, has finally gotten married to his better half.
The NDC communications officer was supported by bigwigs in the NDC as he officially tied the knot to his girlfriend, Irene Amankwaa Karikari. Sammy Gyamfi’s wife, Irene Amankwaa Karikari, is said to have contested the Deputy Women’s Organizer position of the NDC in the Sunyani West constituency.
The private ceremony witnessed notable guests including the NDC’s 2020 flagbearer, John Dramani Mahama and his running mate, Professor Nana Jane Opoku Agyemang.
Former Chief of Staff, Valerie Sawyerr also attended the event in an all-white outfit, to reflect the celebratory gathering. The party’s newly elected National Chairman, Johnson Asiedu Nketia; alongside the immediate past Chairman, Samuel Ofosu-Ampofo were also present to grace the occasion.
Other dignitaries including a member of the NDC’s legal team, Edudzie Tamakloe, in addition to other party stalwarts.
Friends and family of Sammy Gyamfi were also spotted in attendance. In what looks like a traditional ceremony, Sammy Gyamfi and his wedding guests, including some politicians were clad in Kente.
Following the vows, the couple was serenaded by musician, Pieisie Esther, who performed her latest hit track, ‘Way3 Me Yie’.
Meanwhile, some well-wishers have taken to social media to extend their felicitations to the newly wed.
It will be recalled that the NDC Communications Officer in 2020 stated that he will tie the knot in 2021, when the leading opposition party, NDC takes over the realms of power. He revealed that it will be a “victory ceremony” when he gets married.
Following this, Sammy Gyamfi did not reveal who his bride will be but instead indicated that “God will provide”. The father of a now twelve-year-old boy was certain of the victory of the NDC and was upbeat about when his wedding will take place.
It was however rumored that his fiancée is a member of the ruling New Patriotic Party, and this, Mr Gyamfi was quick to dispel.
