Award-winning Ghanaian gospel singer, Celestine Donkor says her collaboration with the Kenyan gospel star, Evelyn Wanjiru has opened many doors for her in East Africa, which is gradually reflecting in her streams.

Speaking in an interview with a media station in Accra, the ‘Favor’ hitmaker said that her collaboration with the Kenyan gospel artiste has had a great impact on her career and went on to assert that the statistics of the song reveals that her listeners and viewers in Kenya, is only second to that of Ghana.

“My collaboration with Evelyn Wanjiru has opened a lot of doors for me in East Africa. Many fans reach out to me on Facebook, they want to hear more of my songs. My statistics are telling me that I have the highest views from Kenya after Ghana.”

She further said that over the years, her friendship with Evelyn Wanjiru has grown so well that they had performed at each other’s concerts in their respective countries.

“We met in South Africa at a show where we both performed. Since then we’ve been performing at each other’s concert. I’ve performed at her shows and I brought her to Ghana for mine. She is anointed and a very talented singer. She was the right person needed on the song. She is one person who would not hold back in pushing the song.  She has been promoting the song very well in Kenya”.

Not only did her collaboration with the Keyan Gospel artist open doors for her in East Africa but also, in the political world in Ghana as the Gospel singer recently came out to say that her manager was offered ¢3000 to get her to perform at a political rally.

She, however, rejected the offer noting on her Instagram page that it was not worth an artiste’s time to risk their career and life for such a “miserable” amount of money.

She explained that if an artist is interested in performing, they should rather push for a “life-transforming cheque.”

“My Fellow Gospel Artists, don’t cheapen your integrity, anointing, career, and risking your life to covid19 for such pathetically miserable amounts.”

Touching on the issue of false prophecies by some men of God who face the backlash and mockery of the public concerning what turns out to be false prophecies, the “Agbeboloo” hit songstress said

“I don’t doubt prophecies at all, I only think that there has to be a particular way of communicating prophecies because what I have never read in the Bible about Jesus, is to give negative utterances but rather he says, ‘you will not die but live’”.

She further admonished Pastors to find a way of speaking to their members to bring the sound mind to them in a matured and Christian way.

The “God Of Storm” singer also revealed that she is about to release new songs with the Daughters Of Glorious Jesus and the Afro Music songstress Efyah which will be a thanksgiving song for Christmas and beyond, featuring the Hi-life crooner Akwaboah.
