Israel’s Frailty Exposed By Hamas Attack

Israel’s Frailty Exposed By Hamas Attack

Lebanon’s Hezbollah leader, Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah.

Hezbollah Secretary-General, Hassan Nasrallah has claimed that the Hamas surprise attack on Israel has exposed “the frailty, weakness and total fragility of Israel,” saying that it’s more fragile than a spider’s web.”

He said that the attack will have lasting consequences.

“This glorious, seismic operation has caused an earthquake in terms of security, military, politics, diplomacy and even psychologically,” he said.

“It will have profound strategic repercussions,” he added.

Nasrallah said that Israel had set its aim too high when it came to trying to “annihilate Hamas” and wipe out its leaders.

He cast doubt on Israel’s ability to achieve its stated aim of releasing the hostages held in Gaza, saying it had been forced to negotiate the release of captives in the past.

Additionally, Nasrallah stated that Israel’s bombardment of Gaza had revealed its “impotence and stupidity” and had made targets of mosques and churches while the world stood by and let it happen.

He suggested that Israel has yet to secure a single military victory despite its month-long operations in Gaza.

Also, Nasrallah noted that Hamas’ operation established a new historical phase in the battle with Israel.

He called the Palestinian group’s decision to launch Al-Aqsa Flood right, wise and courageous, adding that it was carried out with the right timing.

The Hezbollah chief noted that one of Israel’s biggest mistakes now is making goals that it cannot achieve.

Moreover, Nasrallah insisted that Hezbollah played no part in Hamas’s terrorist attacks on Israel on October 7, 2023.

He asserted that the mission had been planned and developed with the utmost secrecy.

“This great, large-scale operation was purely the result of Palestinian planning and implementation. The great secrecy made this operation greatly successful,” he added.

Nasrallah said the attacks had been “100% Palestinian.”

He also thanked groups in Yemen and Iraq, which are part of what is known as the “Axis of Resistance.”

It includes Shia Muslim Iraqi militias which have been firing at U.S forces in Syria and Iraq, and Yemen’s Houthis, who have joined in the conflict by firing drones at Israel.

The Hezbollah leader called what is happening now in Gaza a decisive battle that it’s not like previous wars.

He asserted that this requires everyone to bear responsibility.

Nasrallah warned people “not to lose sight” of two short-term goals: ending the war in Gaza, and enabling the “resistance” in Gaza – including Hamas – “to triumph.”

Such a triumph, he said, would be a victory for all the people in the region – for the people of Egypt, Jordan, Syria, and “before all that, it is a national patriotic interest for Lebanon”.

Arab States Urged To Help End War

Lebanon’s Hezbollah leader Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah appears on a screen as he addresses his supporters during a ceremony to honour fighters killed in the recent escalation with Israel.

Furthermore, the Hezbollah Chief said that Arab and Muslim states “should spare no efforts to put an end to the war”, adding they should cut off oil and food exports to Israel.

Nasrallah said that while Hezbollah’s actions against Israel on the Lebanese border may seem modest, they were “very important.”

Nasrallah confirmed that 57 Hezbollah fighters have been killed so far.

Nasrallah also said that developments in Gaza would dictate whether there are escalations in Lebanon, saying “all scenarios are open on our Lebanese southern front” adding, “We can adopt any option at any time.”

Nasrallah disclosed that the fighting on the Lebanon-Israel border would “not be limited” to the scale seen until now.

He warned the U.S that its threats against Lebanon, as well as the presence of US warships in the region, were pointless, and goaded the U.S about its withdrawal from Afghanistan and the outcomes of its military operations in Iraq and elsewhere.

Addressing the US deployment of warships in the region, Nasrallah said that Hezbollah is not intimidated.
