NPP Primaries: List Of Incumbent Members Of Parliament Secure Strong Mandate for 2024

The New Patriotic Party (NPP) witnessed a resounding display of support for some of its incumbent Members of Parliament (MPs) during the party’s parliamentary primaries held on Saturday, January 27, 2024.

A multitude of seasoned politicians and incumbent Members of Parliament secured their positions, showcasing their unwavering popularity among their constituents.

In the Manhyia South constituency, Dr Matthew Opoku Prempeh emerged victorious, securing the confidence of the electorate for yet another term. The Asante Akyem Central and North constituencies also saw the triumphant victories of Kwame Anyemadu Antwi and Andy Appiah Kubi, respectively, reflecting the constituents’ faith in their representation.

As the results continued to pour in, Henry Quatey celebrated a successful bid for re-election in the Ayawaso Central constituency. K. T Hammond maintained his stronghold in Adansi Asokwa, while Ursula Owusu Ekuful received an overwhelming endorsement in Ablekuma West.

The Sekondi constituency witnessed the victory of Andrew Agyapa Mercer, while the Takoradi and Kwesimintsim constituencies affirmed their trust in Kwabena Okyere Darko and Prince Armah, respectively.

The legal fraternity also had cause for celebration as Lawyer Boamah secured his position in Effia. The Tarkwa constituency re-elected Mireku Duker, and Sannie-Mpohor continued to repose their confidence in John Abbam Aboah.

In Gomoa Central, Naana Eyiah Quansah emerged as the triumphant candidate, while Mavis Hawa Koomson secured the Awutu Senya East seat.

As the outcome of the primaries unfolded, Festus Awuah Kwofie emerged victorious in Upper Denkyira East, while Lawrence Agyinsam secured his position in Hemang Lower Denkyira.

The Assin South constituency maintained its allegiance to John Ntim Fordjuor, and Mfantseman continued to back Ophelia Mensah Hayford. The Asante-Akim South constituency re-elected Kwaku Asante-Boateng, and Asokwa affirmed their trust in Patricia Appiagyei.

The Atwima-Kwanwoma constituency celebrated the re-election of Kofi Amankwa-Manu, and Bantama continued to stand by Francis Asenso Boakye. Asunafo North echoed their support for Evans Bobie Opoku, and Asutifi North re-elected Patrick Banor.

Afigya Kwabre North maintained its trust in Collins Adomako Mensah, and Mavis Nkansah-Boadu secured victory in Afigya Sekyere East. The Kwadaso constituency celebrated the re-election of Kingsley Nvarko, while the Manhyia North constituency continued to stand by Akwasi Konadu.

In Nyiaeso, Dr Stephen Amoah secured another term, while Yaw Frimpong Addo emerged victorious in Manso Adubia. Nsuta Kwamang Beposo maintained their trust in Adelaide Ntim, and Obuasi East celebrated the re-election of Patrick Boakye-Yiadom.

The Old Tafo constituency witnessed the triumphant re-election of Vicent Ekow Assafuah, while the Bortianor Ngleshie Amanfrom constituency celebrated the re-election of Sylvester M. Tetteh.

The Berekum West constituency reaffirmed their support for Kwaku Agyenim Boateng, and Dormaa Central rejoiced in the re-election of Kwaku Agyeman Manu. Berekum East maintained their allegiance to Nelson Kyeremeh, and Sunyani West re-elected Ignatius Baffour Awuah.

In Nsawam/Adoagyiri, Frank Annoh-Dompreh secured another term, while Kojo Oppong Nkrumah celebrated a triumphant re-election in Ofoase/Ayirebi. Kade constituency maintained its trust in Agyare Alexander, and Lower West Akim re-elected Charles Acheampong.

George Kwame Aboagye continued to enjoy support in Asene Akroso Manso, while Joseph Frempong secured victory in Nkawkaw. Atiwa East maintained their allegiance to Abena Osei-Asare, and Mpraeso celebrated the re-election of Davis Ansah Opoku.

The Akim Swedru constituency rejoiced in the triumphant re-election of Kennedy Osei Nyarko, and Kofi Ahenkorah Marfo secured victory in Achiase. In Pru West, Jalulah Pambiin Stephen emerged victorious, and Nanton celebrated the re-election of Mohammed Hardi Tufeiru.

The constituencies of Mion and Salaga North continued to repose their confidence in Musah Abdul-Aziz Ayaba and Alhassan Abdallah Iddi, respectively. Amidu Chinnia Issahaku secured victory in Sissala East, while Alfred Obeng-Boateng celebrated the triumphant return in Bibiani-Anhwiaso Bekwai.

Lastly, the Sefwi Akontombra constituency affirmed their trust in Djornobuah Alex Tetteh.

The NPP’s parliamentary primaries proved to be a resounding success for some of the incumbent MPs, who secured their positions with overwhelming support from their constituents
