Opportunity Sav¬ings and Loans Receives ISO/IEC 27001 Certification

Opportunity International Savings and Loans Ltd. (OISL) has achieved a significant milestone by receiving ISO/IEC 27001 certification, aligning with the directives of the Bank of Ghana to enhance cybersecurity and information security practices within financial institutions.

The certification, awarded by Certi-Trust, a renowned global certification body specializing in Information Security, Cybersecurity, and Privacy Protection, underscores OISL’s commitment to robust security measures.

The certification process was conducted independently by Mr. Eric Odae, Principal Auditor at Certi-Trust, who led the audit and compliance validation. The management team of OISL, led by Mr. Benjamin Kwasi Kusi, Chairman of the Board of IT and Cyber Committee, Mr. Kwame Owusu-Boateng (CEO of OISL), and Dr. Francis Takyi (Chief Risk Officer/Director of Cyber and Information Security of OISL), received the certificate, symbolizing the organization’s dedication to maintaining the highest standards of cybersecurity.

OISL partnered with Innovare Ghana Ltd to go through the certification process, demonstrating its commitment to excellence and adherence to international standards. The ISO/IEC 27001 certification emphasizes the importance of identifying and assessing information security risks, providing a comprehensive framework for establishing, implementing, maintaining, and continually improving Information Security Management Systems (ISMS) within financial institutions.
