Lil Win Apologises To Martha Ankomah For Defamatory Remarks

Lil Win and Martha Ankomah

Ghanaian actor and musician Kwadwo Nkansah, popularly known as Lil Win, has publicly apologized to actress Martha Ankomah for making defamatory comments about her.

In a heartfelt moment, Lil Win expressed his deep regret and asked for forgiveness from the actress.

“Martha Ankomah, please forgive me. I didn’t mean any of the words I said during that TikTok live. If my words were offensive, I am deeply sorry,” he stated.

Lil Win also called out Ghanaian bloggers for their role in the controversy. He accused them of often misinterpreting his words and creating misunderstandings.

“Ghanaian bloggers are fond of putting together pieces of your statements to mean something else. I cannot pass defamatory remarks about anyone on social media.

“I was talking about three things. I used my sister (Martha Ankomah) as an example, and then moved to those on YouTube and TikTok.”

Lil Win

Earlier this week, the lawyer for Martha Ankomah announced in court that Lil Win had reached out and asked for an out-of-court settlement.

Meanwhile, the case has been adjourned to August 15, 2024, during the legal vacation, to finalize the settlement and have the agreed terms adopted by the court as a consent judgment.

It will be remembered that Lil Win in a video that went viral on social media used some unprintable words on the person of Martha Ankomah questioning her prominence in the movie industry, among others.

Martha Ankomah filed a suit claiming five million cedis for hurting her image and that of GTP; a brand she represents.

Lil Win further expressed his distress over the hate campaign against him following a tragic accident in May that resulted in the death of a 3-year-old boy.

Speaking at the Great Minds International School’s speech and prize-giving day in Ahenkro, Ashanti Region, Lil Win bemoaned the deliberate negative narratives on social media.

“With the recent issue that happened to me, people called me proud and disrespectful, yet I have never fought with anyone or stolen from anyone in Ghana before.

“I can’t tell if it’s because of the school I built, the house I live in, or the car I drive. There is no reason for me to intentionally orchestrate an accident that could kill me.”

Lil Win

This notwithstanding, Lil Win stated that he is committed to his philanthropic efforts to make a positive impact on society.

“Good deeds get good rewards. Several years after when I am old, I want to hear an MP say that he or she got his or her education from the school I built. May God bless everyone, especially those who sent their children to my school.”

Lil Win

“Due to the overflow of students in my school, I have built another school two minutes away from the first building to accommodate more students,” he added.

Lil Win has built a house for his childhood friend, known as Diana, after learning about her struggles in life.

This was also after he was informed by a relative of Diana about her struggles, following which he found her living in a makeshift kiosk made of roofing sheets.

Moved by her plight, Lil Win decided to build a new, fully furnished house for her.

“My sister Diana told me about her challenges with marriage and other issues, and that she didn’t have a proper place to sleep. When I saw the kiosk made of roofing sheets, I was deeply moved. So, I asked a mason to construct a house for her. During this time, I had an accident and went to Accra.”

Lil Win

“Today, I returned to hand over the house to her. It is ready, tiled, and equipped with a television, meter, and everything she needs. From today, she can move from the old structure and sleep here,” he said.

Additionally, Lil Win gifted his friend GH¢5,000 so she can invest it in things that will sustain her.

The new house is a chamber and hall unit.

From the post, relatives of Diana thanked Lil Win and asked for God’s blessings to be bestowed upon him.

Meanwhile, Lil Win’s legal issues with actress, Martha Ankomah, are still pending in court.
