Nigerian veteran actor, Pete Edochie has endorsed his son who is also an actor, Yul Edochie as he plans to run for the Presidency office in Nigeria come 2023.
In a video shared by the Yul Edochie via his Instagram and Twitter pages, his father, Pete Edochie, disclosed that several people have approached him asking that he endorses his son and that resolved him to finally do it. Recounting how he was raised, he disclosed that it was his set agenda to raise his children in a much-disciplined manner as he was raised. He also intimated that he wasn’t someone who took interest in politics but, he still has an open mind about it.
“I am not one to involve myself in politics because it does not interest me. But you see, not all your children are bound to follow you. One of my sons, who incidentally is an actor, has decided to get involved in politics. People have been bugging my phone, asking me to endorse my son, and they want him as President, and I just get amused. But they keep insisting, they say they like him, he is disciplined, he is sympathetic, he believes a lot in people, we believe he has a chance. They have bothered me so much that today I am hereby presenting him to you. He has my blessing, he has my endorsement.”

Pete Edochie also sent out a strong warning to his son and assurance to the people saying: “Any day he decides to wear off from the discipline under which he was raised, I will withdraw him from the fight. I give you my word”.
He further prayed for his son after showering him with many blessings

It can be recalled that Yul announced in the early parts of this year that he’ll be running for the highest office in Nigeria. In an Instagram post to celebrate his 39th birthday, he wrote that he wants to bring “real” peace, unity, and progress to his country. He explained that it is time the youth is given the chance to fix Nigeria and further asked God for His help to achieve this goal.
This is not the first time that the movie star will be announcing his plans to run for the office of the president of Nigeria. The actor and one-time governorship aspirant in Anambra state first announced his plans to run for the presidency in 2018. He later revealed that he was no longer going to be contesting for the office of the president. However, he was appointed as the Senior Special Assistant to the Anambra state governor, Willy Obiano on Creative and Entertainment Media.
