Ghanaian musician, Stonebwoy and his wife, Dr. Louisa, who heads the Livingstone Foundation, marked this year’s World Sight Day with an achievement.

Every October 10, eye specialists worldwide raise awareness about the importance of eye care in young people and inspire children everywhere to love their eyes.

Globally, over two billion people suffer from vision impairment. At least 1 billion of these cases could have been prevented or are yet to be addressed.

The case of young Michael Akpabi, a one-year-old victim of Conjunctivitis, came to the attention of Stonebwoy’s Livingstone Foundation, led by his wife.

Conjunctivitis, also known as pink eye, is an irritation or inflammation of the conjunctiva often caused by allergies or an infection.

The Livingstone Foundation came to the boy’s aid. The charity organization offered essential supplies and financial assistance to cover the one-year-old’s medical bills. Before-and-after videos of young Akpabi’s condition impressed many fans.

Fans hail Stonebwoy and Dr. Louisa’s efforts toward Michael Akpabi.

Stonebwoy’s Livingstone Foundation covered the embattled young man’s medical bills and promised to support him in continuing his life as a dreadlocks hair stylist.

The upcoming project will be the Afro-dancehall pioneer’s sixth LP following the high-striding 5th Dimension project released last year.

On October 10, Stonebwoy gave fans a first look at the album as he shared the opportunity for fans to pre-save.

The album will have 13 tracks and four songs, including “Your Body”, “Ekelebe” featuring ODUMODUBLVCK, “Jejereje” featuring Ginton, and “Pray for Me” featuring Wyclef Jean, which are already out.

The new tracklist features Ghana’s Larruso, Nigeria’s Duncan Mighty, London’s Amaria BB, Bonaire Island’s IR Sais, and South Florida’s Kaylan Arnold.

Other notable names include Blvk H3ro, Chi Ching, and Sp Jamaica’s dancehall queen Spice, who was nominated for Best Reggae Album at the 64th Grammy Awards in 2022. She’s the only female dancehall star to register over 200 million pure sales from one album.

Stonebwoy described his ‘UPXRUNNIN6’ project as a “complimentary and supplementary” to 5th Dimension, which brought several milestones, including a sold-out Europe tour, a Grammy consideration, and a sold-out concert at the 40k-capacity Accra Sports Stadium.Expand article logo
