Nadia Buari Opens Up About Family, Fame, And Motherhood

Nadia Buari

Award-winning Ghanaian actress, Nadia Buari has always kept her family away from the media spotlight, and in a recent interview, she explained the reason she is doing that.

Despite her fame, she has been careful about drawing attention to her personal life and has set firm boundaries between her public and private personas.

“I want people to know me for my work, not for what I do behind the camera. It’s always difficult, though, because there are always rumors and people trying to invade your privacy.”

Nadia Buari

The mother of four revealed that she balances motherhood with her career thanks to a strong support system, including her family and partner. “I have a very supportive family,” Nadia Buari said.

Despite the challenges, Buari described her family as a source of strength, saying, “I wouldn’t be able to do it without them.”

When asked about her biggest paycheck to date, Buari remained coy, stating that the budget of a movie determines the pay.

“It all depends on the budget. Sometimes, I can be very considerate when it comes to payment.”

The Ghanaian actress also opened up about her experience being a public figure, revealing that she doesn’t let the noise around her affect her.

“I don’t care for the noise. I shut it out and focus on what matters. It’s deliberate—if I don’t have anything to promote, I don’t engage in interviews.”

As for the personal side of her life, Buari shared a surprising tidbit: she’s not exactly a fan of dancing. “I could not dance to save my life,” she admitted. “I can try, but I’m not a dancer.”

Nadia Expresses Thoughts on Ghana’s Movie Industry State

Actress Nadia Buari expressed her thoughts on the state of Ghana’s movie industry, calling for more investment and better infrastructure to help the industry thrive.

The award-winning Ghanaian actress emphasized the challenges faced by the industry in comparison to its Nigerian counterpart, particularly in terms of cinema availability.

“Imagine with our little resources; we’re creating magic. But if we had more, we’d achieve even greater things. Look at Nigeria; they have cinema halls in every state. Investors can invest in projects, knowing they have guaranteed returns. In Ghana, we’re limited to just a few cinemas.”

Buari also commented on the lack of support for the Ghanaian film industry from key stakeholders.

“It’s essential for filmmakers to unite and push for better policies and funding. When we go as a collective, our voices are heard more clearly.”

The actress, who has worked on both Ghanaian and Nigerian film projects, noted that while Nigerian productions often offer more substantial pay, it all comes down to the budget. “In Nigeria, I receive a lot more,” she shared. “The budget plays a huge role in how much an actor is paid.”

With Ghana’s film industry facing growing challenges, Buari also urged political leaders to prioritize cinema infrastructure and film funding to help the sector grow. “If they take us seriously and help fund our projects, it would make a huge difference,” she added.

While the Ghanaian government has occasionally shown interest in promoting the creative arts, support for the movie industry specifically remains limited.

There is a need for policies that foster the growth of the industry, such as tax breaks for filmmakers, support for distribution, and the creation of film schools.

Despite these challenges, the industry has seen notable success and continues to evolve, with growing interest from global audiences and the rise of digital platforms offering new opportunities for distribution.
