In a landmark moment for East African music and cross-continental collaboration, Ghanaian dancehall and Afrobeats powerhouse Stonebwoy is confirmed to perform at “Redsan@30,” a high-profile concert honoring 30 years of dancehall royalty led by Ugandan legend Jose Chameleone.

The event is scheduled for Saturday, August 29, 2026, at the iconic Carnivore Gardens in Nairobi, Kenya.

The announcement, shared widely on music analytics and news platform Tune Stats, has already generated significant buzz across social media, with fans expressing excitement over the pan-African lineup.

Promotional posters feature Stonebwoy prominently alongside Chameleone, highlighting the event’s theme: “Celebrating 30 Years of Dancehall Royalty.”

Tickets are available via mtickets.com, with regular tickets priced at KSh 2,500 and VIP options at KSh 7,500.

A Milestone for Dancehall

Jose Chameleone, born Joseph Mayanja, has been a cornerstone of Ugandan and East African music since the late 1990s. Often referred to as Redsan in certain contexts or branding for this milestone, he rose to fame with hits blending reggae, dancehall, kadongo kamu, and Afrobeats influences.

His career spans three decades of chart-topping releases, social commentary, and energetic live performances that have earned him a dedicated following across the continent.

“Redsan@30” is positioned not just as a concert but as a “cultural reset,” celebrating longevity in an industry where sustaining relevance for 30 years is a rare feat.

Bringing in Stonebwoy adds explosive Ghanaian energy to the mix. The multiple-award-winning artist, real name Livingstone Etse Satekla, has built an international reputation through his dynamic fusion of dancehall, reggae, Afrobeats, and highlife.

Known for hits like “Putuu,” “Sick Flow,” and collaborations with global acts, Stonebwoy commands massive stages with his charismatic delivery and energetic performances.

His involvement highlights the growing interconnectedness of West and East African music scenes.

The two artists have previously crossed paths musically. They featured together on the Continental Remix of Morgan Heritage’s “Africa We Seh,” alongside Kojo Antwi and Samini, a track that celebrated African unity and garnered streams across platforms.

This shared history suggests their joint stage appearance could deliver unforgettable moments, potentially including collaborative performances.

Star-Studded Lineup

Early announcements indicate a powerhouse roster of East African dancehall and reggae icons. Confirmed or rumored acts include Wyre, Nazizi, Jua Cali, AY, TID, and others still to be announced.

This gathering represents a rare convergence of legends who shaped the regional sound from the early 2000s onward. Carnivore Gardens, known for hosting major events, provides an expansive outdoor setting perfect for the expected high-energy crowd.

Industry observers see this as more than a birthday or anniversary show. It highlights dancehall’s enduring influence in Africa, where the genre has evolved with local flavors while maintaining roots in Jamaican traditions. In Kenya, Uganda, and Ghana alike, dancehall remains a voice for youth culture, party anthems, and social issues.

The timing of  “Redsan@30” aligns with the continued global ascent of African music. Afrobeats has dominated international charts, with Ghanaian and Nigerian artists leading the charge.

Stonebwoy’s presence bridges Ghana’s vibrant scene known for its dancehall-reggae roots through pioneers like Shatta Wale and himself to East Africa’s established dancehall strongholds.

For Kenyan promoters and the local music industry, landing a star of Stonebwoy’s caliber signals growing ambition. Events like this boost tourism, provide platforms for emerging talent, and strengthen cultural ties across borders. Sponsors including Home Boyz, Skyward Airlines, and others further indicate strong commercial interest.

Fans Reactions

Social media reactions have been electric. One fan under the Tune Stats post simply wrote “Torture dem,” capturing the anticipated intensity.

Others are already planning trips to Nairobi, viewing the concert as a must-attend event for 2026. With several months until the date, organizers are expected to roll out more announcements, potentially adding international or additional regional heavyweights.

Stonebwoy’s team has yet to issue an official statement beyond the poster, but his history of delivering high-octane shows suggests fans can expect a set filled with hits, new material, and signature dance moves that light up arenas.

As August 29, 2026, approaches, “Redsan@30”  stands poised to be one of East Africa’s biggest concerts of the year. It celebrates not only Jose Chameleone’s remarkable career but also the resilience and evolution of dancehall across the continent.

For Stonebwoy, it is another opportunity to expand his footprint in East Africa, where his music already enjoys strong support.

In an era where African artists are increasingly headlining global festivals and breaking streaming records, events like this reinforce the power of live music to unite diverse audiences.

Whether you are a longtime Chameleone devotee, a Stonebwoy “Bhim” native, or simply a lover of African rhythms, the night promises pure dancehall royalty in action.

Tickets are selling fast music lovers are advised to secure theirs early through official channels to avoid missing what promoters are calling a historic celebration. The stage is set for an unforgettable night of music, culture, and cross-border energy under the Nairobi skies.
