The #Fixthecountry campaign is back and trending number one on Twitter.

This follows the Supreme court quashing an order by the Accra High Court;restraining the #Fixthecountry movement from going on demonstration.

Based on this, the conveners of the campaign and some Ghanaians;have taken to the social media platform where the campaign started to react to the latest development.

Ghanaian socialite and actress, Efia Odo who is one of the conveners of the online campaign;in a tweet showing her excitement of the nullification of the injunction noted;that they can finally go ahead and set a date to protest peacefully. She ended her tweet with the famous quote “patience is indeed a virtue”.

The Supreme Court has nullified the injunction. We can now set a date and finally protest peacefully for #FixTheCountry. Patience is indeed a virtue.

More so, Ghanaian twitter influencer and the initiator of the #Fixthecountry;campaign, Joshua Boye-Doe, popularly known as Kaly Jay has also reacted. In a Twitter post sighted by The Vaultz Media (TVM), Kaly Jay simply wrote “let’s go” with several exclamation marks indicating his excitement over the issue. He also backed his tweet with the famous hashtag #Fixthecountry.

Let's gooo!!!!!!!! #fixtheCountry

That notwithstanding, some Ghanaians in reaction to this stated that the decision made by the supreme court is the right thing. Others were of the view that this is a win for the masses and that the revolution they have been asking for is going to be fulfilled. Some also agreed that indeed “revolution has come to stay”.

Nonetheless, others suggested that the demonstration should be planned in a way that, it will be the “biggest demonstration” the government has ever witnessed in the country. Agreeing with this suggestion, some netizens also suggested that they won’t relent on “going hard” on the leaders of the country.

Meanwhile, some opined that the only reason the Supreme court has nullified the injunction is because of what happened at Sir John’s funeral where people broke the covid 19 protocols in the full glare of the President and his Vice. According to them, this is just to sway Ghanaians from demanding that the President and the others involved in breaking the protocols face the law. These netizens vowed that they won’t lose focus as they will “campaign and still demand that the ‘law breakers’ face the law”.

More so, some have cautioned that they should bear in mind that it’s going to be a peaceful demonstration. Therefore no one should come with the mentality of vandalizing any property.

Aside this, some tweeps shared funny pictures of how they will hit the street when the demonstration date is set. Some reactions on Twitter read:

Talking of demo , they've seen many, even fiercer ones. But one thing they are yet to see is a week or even a month full of non stop demonstrations…we are not backing down unless ex-gratia, ministers' allowances, etc are scrapped before we rest..#FixTheCountry

Earlier today, a unanimous decision by a five-member panel of the Supreme court held that the High Court exceeded its jurisdiction by making the restraining order to last indefinite.

According to the court, by the operation of law, the order which was secured ex parte by the police on May 6, 2021, is supposed to last for 10days, and therefore the High Court acted in error by making it indefinite.

The court gave the ruling after upholding in part a certiorari application by the #FixTheCountry Movement.

The Supreme court however dismissed the second leg of the application which was seeking an order to restrain the Ghana Police Service from interfering with the demonstration.
