United Bank for Africa (UBA) has declared that Africa is standing on the brink of its next great fintech revolution, urging banks, fintech firms, regulators, investors, and policymakers to join forces to unlock the continent’s enormous economic potential.

Speaking at the UBA X Fintech Conference 2026, the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of UBA Ghana, Bernard Gyebi, described the gathering as more than just a technology conference.
