The Gentlemen

Netflix has officially unveiled the first teaser trailer and promotional images for The Gentlemen Season 2, confirming the highly anticipated return of Guy Ritchie’s stylish crime comedy series.

The new season, set to premiere globally on September 3, 2026, shifts the action from British country estates to the luxurious shores of Italy’s Lake Maggiore, promising fresh international intrigue, escalating power struggles, and Ritchie’s signature blend of sharp wit, brutal violence, and eccentric characters.

Theo James reprises his role as Eddie Horniman, the reluctant aristocrat-turned-crime boss, alongside Kaya Scodelario as the ambitious and formidable Susie Glass. Their on-screen chemistry, which captivated audiences in Season 1, appears even more charged in the new visuals, as the duo navigates the complexities of expanding their criminal empire overseas.

The teaser hints at high-stakes deals, sun-drenched locations, and the kind of chaotic confrontations that defined the original series.

Season 2 picks up roughly one year after the events of the first installment. Eddie and Susie have solidified their partnership to manage Bobby Glass’s (Ray Winstone) weed empire. However, the business is now going global, with operations extending into Europe. The logline teases significant tension: Bobby’s increasingly erratic decisions put the entire enterprise at risk.

Eddie and Susie face a critical choice-stage a coup against the unpredictable patriarch or risk losing everything they’ve built. Netflix’s ominous tagline, “Unfettered ambition never ends well,” suggests that the consequences will be both dramatic and darkly comedic.

The move to Italy marks a significant evolution for the series. First-look images showcase stunning lakeside villas, luxury boats on Lake Maggiore (which straddles Italy and Switzerland), private jets, and opulent settings that contrast with the muddy English countryside of Season 1.

One image features Theo James in a sharp tan suit, cigarette in hand, exuding the suave confidence that has become Eddie’s trademark. Another captures Ray Winstone and fellow cast members on a wooden dock overlooking the water, while Kaya Scodelario is seen descending from a private plane, signaling the jet-set lifestyle of the expanding syndicate.

The returning cast brings continuity and depth. Vinnie Jones returns as the loyal groundskeeper Geoff Seacombe, Joely Richardson as Lady Sabrina, Daniel Ings as Eddie’s hapless brother Freddy, Giancarlo Esposito as the dangerous Stanley Johnston, and several others including Jasmine Blackborow, Michael Vu, Harry Goodwins, Ruby Sear, and Pearce Quigley.

Their familiar faces ensure the core dynamics that made Season 1 a hit remain intact.

Guy Ritchie, who created the series and directed multiple episodes in Season 1, continues to shape the project with his distinctive style. The filmmaker’s knack for assembling colorful ensembles is on full display with an impressive roster of new additions.

Hugh Bonneville (Downton Abbey), Benjamin Clementine, Benedetta Porcaroli, Michele Morrone, Sergio Castellitto, Amra Mallassi, and Tyler Conti join the fray. Adding to the eclectic mix are British boxer Chris Eubank Jr. and TV personality Maya Jama, whose real-world personas are likely to bring unique energy to their roles.

The Gentlemen premiered its first season in March 2024 and quickly became one of Netflix’s most-watched original series. Its success stemmed from a potent mix of crime drama, dark humor, and stylish action, all anchored by strong performances and Ritchie’s flair for dialogue and set pieces.

The show’s appeal crossed demographics, attracting fans of everything from Peaky Blinders to Succession. Strong viewership numbers and positive critical reception led to a swift renewal, with production wrapping earlier in 2026.

This international expansion fits Netflix’s strategy of leveraging popular IP for broader global appeal. By moving the story to Italy, the streamer taps into European audiences while maintaining the British roots that define the series.

The eight-episode season will drop all at once on September 3, allowing viewers to binge the new chapters in one go-a format that has proven successful for the platform’s flagship titles.

Public Reaction

Industry observers note that The Gentlemen Season 2 arrives at a pivotal time for Netflix’s original programming. With increased competition in the streaming wars, the service continues to invest heavily in returning series that deliver both critical acclaim and strong engagement metrics.

The combination of star power, an established fanbase, and exotic new locations positions Season 2 as a potential standout in the fall lineup.

For fans eager for more, the teaser trailer offers glimpses of tense confrontations, luxurious backdrops, and the familiar rapid-fire editing that defines Ritchie’s work. While plot specifics remain closely guarded, the visuals suggest a season filled with betrayal, ambition, and plenty of unexpected alliances.

Eddie and Susie’s partnership will undoubtedly be tested as they balance loyalty, power, and survival in unfamiliar territory.

As September 3 approaches, anticipation continues to build. The Gentlemen Season 2 promises to deliver the same addictive cocktail of crime, comedy, and charisma that made the first season a breakout success -only this time on a grander, more international scale.
