Netflix has officially confirmed that production is underway on the third season of its hit crime comedy series The Gentlemen. The streamer shared the news on Friday with a short teaser video and the message “Something’s brewing… The Gentlemen Season 3 is now in production.”
The announcement arrives roughly seven weeks after Season 2 premiered on 3 September 2026. The series, created by Guy Ritchie and based on his 2019 film of the same name, was renewed for a third season in August 2026-days before the second instalment even dropped.
Production actually began quietly in mid-September, earlier than many industry trackers had anticipated.
The teaser offers a first glimpse of the new direction. It opens with Theo James as Eddie Horniman standing in a desert landscape, followed by scenes of ornate trays and tea being poured. Kaya Scodelario’s Susie Glass appears in a colourful patterned outfit, offering a cuppa and declaring, “That’s right, we’re branching out.”
Aerial shots reveal a large production camp of black tents set against golden sand dunes, with the bold text “SEASON 3 IN PRODUCTION” overlaid. Filming is taking place in the United Kingdom and Morocco.
According to the official logline, Eddie and Susie embark on their most ambitious project yet: building a casino in the Middle East. “But with danger lurking around every corner, has the Duke’s unchecked ambition finally gone too far?” the synopsis asks.
The move expands the show’s world beyond the English countryside and Italian locations of previous seasons into a completely new continent.
Theo James and Kaya Scodelario return in the lead roles of Eddie Horniman, the aristocratic former soldier turned criminal operator, and Susie Glass, the sharp and sophisticated crime-family operator. Also back are Ray Winstone as Bobby Glass, Joely Richardson as Lady Sabrina Horniman, Vinnie Jones as Geoff, Jasmine Blackborow as Charly, Harry Goodwins as Jack, Benjamin Clementine and Maya Jama as Aisha.
New Casts
A high-profile group of new cast members has joined for Season 3. Robert Carlyle (Trainspotting, Line of Duty), Elijah Wood (Lord of the Rings, Yellowjackets) and Orlando Bloom (Lord of the Rings, Pirates of the Caribbean) lead the newcomers.
They are joined by Dexter Fletcher, Bruna Marquezine, Ed Speleers, Saffron Burrows and Bugzy Malone. The casting creates a notable Lord of the Rings reunion between Wood and Bloom.

Daniel Ings, who played Eddie’s troubled older brother Freddy across the first two seasons, will not return. Ings has described the exit as providing “a fun sense of closure” for the character. Giancarlo Esposito is also not listed among the returning cast. Earlier rumours that Meghan Markle might join the series did not materialise.
Expectations of Season 3
Season 3 will consist of eight hour-long episodes. Guy Ritchie returns as creator, co-writer (alongside Matthew Read) and director. The series is produced by Moonage Pictures for Netflix and Miramax TV. Executive producers include Ritchie, Ivan Atkinson, Matthew Read, Will Gould, Simon Crawford Collins, Frith Tiplady, Jonathan Glickman, Alix Jaffe and Theo James.
Ritchie has previously said of the third season: “The ambition of The Gentlemen has accelerated, the world has expanded, and the consequences carry weight. A third season felt inevitable, and I’m looking forward to pushing the boundaries of it further.” Lead actor Theo James has also teased that the show will head in a “completely new direction” on a different continent and become “even bigger.”
The early renewal and swift move into production signal Netflix’s confidence in the series after Season 2’s strong performance. Fans can expect a more expansive, higher-stakes story as Eddie and Susie’s criminal empire attempts to go global.

No release date has been announced, though the accelerated schedule suggests Season 3 could arrive sooner than the lengthy gap between the first two seasons.
With cameras already rolling in desert locations and a star-studded new ensemble in place, The Gentlemen is clearly preparing its most ambitious chapter yet.
