Afro dancehall music crooner, Bhadext Cona has clapped back at high life artiste, Kuami Eugene as she has plagiarized the concept of Kuami Eugene’s ‘Bunker’ after she alleged that he stole her song, ‘Bolga’.

The singer who was vexed by the actions of Kuami Eugene mentioned that she was stunned to see her original work out there. Therefore, she decided to hit back at Kuami Eugene.

Although there was a slight difference in Bhadext Cona’s video as against that of Kuami Eugene’s, it was clear that there was a case of copying.

Explaining why she copied the concept of Kuame Eugene’s music video in an interview, Bhadext Cona said: “I want Kuami Eugene to also feel the pain of the people whose songs he samples and uses as his own”.

Further speaking, she noted that it’s “very hurtful for a person to work on a project all day and night and another person will sample and release it ahead of time”. She also slammed Kuami Eugene for his constant music theft.

Bhadext Cona’s actions has currently raised concerns on social media as some are advising her to be careful since she could land into serious legal issues. Others who are in support of her defended that if Kuami Eugene didn’t steal her song, she wouldn’t go to this extent.

I am better than Kuami Eugene- Bhadest Cona

In the interview where Bhadext Cona disclosed how Kuami Eugene stole her song, she alleged that she sent him the song for a feature but according to her, Kuami Eugene described the song as “childish.”

Bhadext Cona went on to claim that Kuami Eugene subsequently remade the song into his latest song ‘Bunker’.

“I don’t want to talk about Kuami Eugene because I am better than he is. He is not better than I am. I am a great musician than he is. If you can steal my song and remake it into a new song, then I am far superior than him.

“So far as he stole my song, then it proves that I am better than he is. He is aware that he stole my song but I don’t want to talk about it”.

Bhadext Cona

The allegation came in just few months after a Ghana-based Nigerian musician, Oduma Essan reportedly sued the musician 120,000 Ghana cedis over allegations of plagiarizing his song.

Oduma said Kuami Eugene stole his song, ‘Show Body’, and just like the case of Bhadext Cona, remade the song without permission.

“I feel so sad. I am not happy and what he has done to me, he has done to a lot of people. I believe this is the time we should put a stop to this thing. He should have acknowledged me as the originator and owner of the song. You don’t go and steal my song and bring it back and say it’s your song”.

Oduma Essan

Meanwhile, not long before the Oduma Essan incidence, the 2020 VGMA Artiste of Year, Kuami Eugene was accused of heavily sampling the late Prophet Seth Frimpong’s song, ‘Okumchola’, in his song ‘Dollar On You’. Kuami Eugene was later reported to have settled the case, paying monetary compensation to the producer of the song, Roland Ackah, who is also known as Buddy Roro.
