Nigerian singer and entrepreneur, Peter Okoye of Psquare fame is set to sue some banks for allowing fraudsters to open bank accounts in his name without verifying from him.
Peter Okoye lamenting over how some people are using his name and ‘zoom win’ to scam others disclosed he found out that some people have opened bank accounts in his name, ‘Peter Okoye of Psquare’, without his knowledge or verifications from the said banks.
Peter Okoye angrily called out the banks that have allowed the fraudsters to use his name to open a bank account. He alleged that the banks didn’t ask for identification cards to verify if that is actually their legal name before opening the account for the fraudsters.
According to him, it’s either there are some workers at the bank conniving with the fraudsters to open the account in his name. He further claimed that due to this unfortunate incident, some people are blaming him for what the banks and some fraudsters are doing.
“Enough is enough!!! This is 2022. I will soon start calling some banks out! It’s either it’s an inside job or otherwise! I have a name to protect here and save some of this innocent victims! “How can banks allow someone to open an account in the name of PETER OKOYE PSQUARE without valid means of identification, no biometrics, no BVN, no verified address or even utility bill to correspond the address of the account owner? Now they are using my name to scam innocent people! I am suing this Banks for damages and calling them out soon! #Fraudalert”.

Peter Okoye Cautioned fans Against Fraud
Just recently, Peter Okoye warned his fans against internet fraudsters defrauding people in his name.
The 40-year-old took to his Twitter page to send out a stern warning to his fans. Peter Okoye cautioned that he will block anyone that sends him a message that they have been scammed under his name. Explaining his reason for deciding to block them, Peter opined said: “How can someone message u that you won money and still tell u to pay to receive your money and you believe them! Like how?
“I don’t understand some people! Is like me saying I am doing a Give Away of 100k each but you have to send me 30k first to receive the 100k! Please does that make any sense? Greed to the highest level! But they will pay fraudsters and come here to complain”.

The caution didn’t just end there as he also wrote on Instagram, that: “I have said what I said, he who has ears let him hear.”
