Ghanaian musician, Mr. Drew has revealed that his new hit song titled ‘Case’ was recorded in 2020 but was not released until recently.
He recounted how long it took him to release the new hit song even though he had written it already.
He noted that the song was written in collaboration with Kwami Eugene, who was not supposed to feature if it had been released at the time it was sung.
Mr. Drew took the opportunity to admonish upcoming artists to stay focused and keep pushing till their expectations are met because there are challenges in the music industry.
He narrated:
“The ‘Case’ is three years old. I was looking for a song to release next, so I was going through the beats which are different from the actual beat. It is a high-life song. So while I was going through the songs, I sang ‘Case’ on ‘Amapiano’. I wrote the song with Kwami Eugene.
“So instead of releasing this song, I released ‘Later’ featuring Kelvyn Boy. I was supposed to release this with another artist at the time. We both wrote it but we were not going to feature on it, just that he made suggestions”.

Mr. Drew further admonished up-and-coming artists, by disclosing:
“I will say don’t be scared. It looks scary, and sometimes you feel like would I be able to make it? Trust me once you step out of that bubble, you will realize that there are so many opportunities out there.
“So many things to explore and don’t be scared to start all over. Push yourself to the limit, in the end, we all want to be happy and free to live. So don’t be scared”.

Dealing with social media trolls
Mr. Drew has said that he wishes he could respond to trolls on social media aimed at him by some individuals.
He disclosed that it was frustrating when he found himself in that situation and wished he could speak to address the issue, but doing so might cause more damage to his reputation in the public domain.
Mr. Drew lamented how some people paint him black on social media because of certain things they misunderstood about him in relation to his music career.
He, however, indicated that he controls his emotions in order to refrain from responding even though it is disturbing how it feels to be trolled on social media.
Mr. Drew noted:
“People hating and making stories up, painting us black at the end of the day. We know what we have done and what we’ve been doing. We can’t really go out at the same time we are in the public domain and we can’t go out and explain ourselves to everybody.
“Sometimes, it is very frustrating because you wish you could speak at the same time you look at the damage it will cause you when you speak up. People will still twist your words regardless of what you say, so sometimes you just have to keep it to your self. Just keep everything in your chest, and keep moving”.

Also, Mr Drew opened up about why he has no hair on his head.
The ‘Case’ hitmaker detailed that he intentionally shaves all the hair on his head because his hairline is receding, adding that he does not also like his ‘V shape’.
He stated:
“So my hairline is receding and I don’t like the V shape, so I just shaved everything. If you are not nice you cannot rock a bald head”.
