The Nigerian entertainment industry was thrown into mourning following the demise of popular gospel singer, Sammie Okposo.
Following the announcement, fellow entertainers and fans took to their social media accounts to mourn the late singer.
Sharing Okposo’s video on his Facebook page, a fellow gospel singer wrote;
“Wow! Still can’t believe this. Just last night we were talking about reaching out to you today, that it’s time to release this project that you love so much.
“You poured yourself into it, and constantly followed up on the status. Just when we are about to release this project Haaaaaaaa!”

Comedian Woli Arole said, May the Lord comfort the Okposo family on Sammie Okposo’s painful demise.
Fans took to Twitter to mourn the singer, as they expressed shock at his demise.
“I met Sammie Okposo in London, and we agreed to film an episode of the podcast. We exchanged numbers and kept in touch, finding the right time and schedule. Rest in peace. Strength to his family”.

Gospel singer, Sammy Okposo, dies at 51
According to reports, the popular Gospel singer, Sammie Okposo slumped Friday morning and died.
He died at age 51.
His death came months after he was involved in an adultery scandal.
The ‘Wellu Wellu’ artist, in a lengthy Instagram page, urged Nigerians to pray for him.
He admitted cheating on his wife when he traveled to the United States in late 2021 and apologized to his wife, Ozioma, on his Instagram page on January 24, 2022, for his infidelity.
The 51-year-old also suspended himself from all ministry work until full restoration as he sought forgiveness from God.
Sammie was the CEO of Zamar Entertainment and collaborated with many gospel artists.
The most recent album, ‘The Statement’ was produced by a Grammy Award winner, Kevin Bond.
