Most celebrities and music lovers have taken to social media to react to the shooting of the South African rapper, AKA.
According to reports, the award-winning rapper was murdered by his assailants in Florida Rd, Durban as confirmed by the South African police.
Amidst the depressing news, a short clip made moments before the unfortunate incident popped up and received a lot of sad reactions in the process.
In the video, the rapper can be seen hanging out with a couple of friends and making merry.
He appeared lively and cheerful throughout the short video which has since taken over social media trends.
Fans of the award-winning rapper have taken to their various social media timelines to mourn their music idol and sympathize with the bereaved family.

South African rapper AKA shot 5 times in a drive-by incident
South African rapper, Kiernan Jarryd Forbes known as AKA is reported to have been shot at about 8 pm on Friday night, February 10, 2023.
Reports say the shooters fled after shooting him ‘five times’.
According to a witness at the scene, Forbes was shot while standing on the pavement when gunfire rang out shortly.
Another person believed to be AKA’s bodyguard was also wounded, while another unidentified person, who is believed to be a close friend of AKA, has been shot dead.
An eyewitness who spoke with the media is reported to have said that he can confirm that two men were killed and one of them is a well-known rapper. He further added that the Police will not be releasing any names of the victims yet until a full investigation is completed.
AKA was born and raised in Cape Town. Forbes gained recognition after releasing his single “Victory Lap” from his debut studio album, Altar Ego (2010). “Victory Lap” was successful as it topped South African local radio charts.
On 28 July 2010, Forbes released “I Want It All”, which is the lead single from his debut studio album, Altar Ego.
Alter Ego was then released on 23 August 2011. The album was certified gold by RiSA for its commercial success.
The album won several accolades, notably the 2011 Metro FM Awards for ‘Best Hip Hop Album’.
Forbes won Best Male Artist of the Year at the 2012 South African Music Awards.
He continued his success by releasing studio albums which include “Levels” (2014), ‘Touch My Blood’ (2018), ‘Bhovamania’ (2020), and the collaborative album with Anatii, titled ‘Be Careful What You Wish For’ (2017).
