Ghanaian hiplife, rapper Kwaw Kese has descended on the government again over the pricing of COVID vaccine, Sputnik, in Ghana.

CEO of 'Mad Time Entertainment', Kwaw Kese.

Ghanaian musician, Kwaw Kese, has added his voice to the trending conversation on the rights of lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer intersex (LGBTQI)+ in the country as he intimated that LGBTQ+ shouldn’t be imposed on Ghanaians.

Kwaw Kese speaking in an interview, expressed alarm at the increased rate at which members of the LGBTQI+ are vehemently pushing their agenda. According to the musician, their activities paint a picture of desperation as they seem to impose their lifestyle on Ghanaians.

The ‘Abordam’ hitmaker stated that members of the LGBTQ community can go about their usual activities without a “public fanfare”.

“This thing has been there when we were growing up. We heard and knew people who behaved like women, ‘Kojo Besia’. The problem I have now is they are trying to impose it on us.

“You can be whoever you want to be, but be that in peace. It is your right to do it in peace. But if you bring it into our faces, I think that is not Ghanaian. Maybe my family member might be straight, but seeing what people are doing, they might go and try it”.

Kwaw Kese who was based abroad for a long time revealed that some of his friends abroad identify with the LGBTQ community. However, he has nothing against them since it’s a lifestyle they have chosen. He iterated that such individuals should conduct their activities discreetly rather than imposing them on Ghanaians.

Speaking on the anti-LGBTQI bill yet to be passed, Kwaw Kese said:

“The parliamentarians should not even waste time to be thinking about a bill to be passed. This thing has been there. Whether we like it or not, it’s there. Now they want their right to be protected, and that is why these politicians also want to pass a bill”.

In the same vein, Kwaw Kese touched on the arrest of Shatta Wale.  According to Kwaw Kesse, Shatta wale has also joined the team of ex-convicts just like himself.

It can be recalled that Kwaw Kese, was jailed for smoking cannabis in November 2014.  He was sentenced to a day in jail and ordered to pay a fine of Gh¢1,200.

Kwaw Kese paid the fine and served the one-day jail sentence. However, the musician was on remand for over a month at the Kumasi Central Prison before being bailed on December 30, 2014.

Kwaw Kese sharing his thoughts on the issue revealed that some few years back, Shatta Wale and his fans ridiculed him for spending time in prison.

Kwaw Kese who believes that people cannot control how laws work, posited that the way Shatta Wale’s shooting prank was handled is a lesson to anyone who goes against the law.

“It wasn’t something I was wishing it happens to any of my colleagues, but you know we don’t have charge of the law. The law can get a grip on you at any time, and I think that’s what happened. It is really sad that my brothers had to go through it, but some of these things, you go through to learn a lesson. I think a lesson has been learned. You can’t be pranking people like that”.

Kwaw stated that freedom is an expensive thing to every individual and therefore advised Ghanaians not to fall prey to losing their freedom.
