Media personality, Sally Mann has asserted that Efya does not have a very strong PR presence as an artist.

According to her, since her PR team isn’t strong, she is unable to debunk all the false accusations made against her, which is making other brands disassociate themselves from her.

She said:

“Efya’s business is not really out there. If you want any information about Efya, it’s quite difficult to get that information. If she were to have a strong team with the PR side being strong, I think they would have been able to write something for us to or as a way of rejoinder or whatever to debunk whatever has been said about her that she deals in drugs or is a drug head.

“In the past 4 months, a lot of tags has been placed on her and a lot of comments have come up concerning she and Blakk Rasta’s incidence with netizens criticizing her. But then again, I blame the fact that she doesn’t have a strong PR presence as an artist, so if any issue should arise concerning her, the information travels far because everyone get to speak his or her mind”.

She further added that whereas other artists do not have PRs, they come out to debunk any negativity about them citing Shatta Wale as an example. She said Shatta Wale wouldn’t allow any netizen to put out anything that will tarnish his image, especially tagging him as a drug head.

Sally Mann said Efya is a phenomenal artist but the aspect of her image management is not properly controlled.

She asserted:

“But Efya is you know a phenomenal artist. But that aspect of how her image is managed, in terms of crticisms, or allowing a team member to grant an interview or write a press release as in they taking exception to this or possibly, the person who put the information out there about her will face the court of law. These are ways used to remedy a situation when an artist’s image is involved”.

It can be recalled that Efya’s mom, Nana Adwoa Awindoh disclosed that her daughter had lost huge deals due to negative publicity.

Sally Mann Frimpong reveals that all artists are different adding that Shatta Wale started with negativity, and to him, it is that which has made him who he is today.

She said that Efya didn’t start her brand with any negativity citing that she is a corporate brand girl.

She disclosed:

“All artists are different. With Shatta Wale, he started with that, negativity around him, to him, has made him the person that he is.mBut Efya didn’t start with negativity. She is a corporate brand girl. I mean and I give to all the girls I’ve mentioned their names so far, from Becca to Efya to MzVee to Adina. These girls have really carried out themselves appropriately, when it comes ladies in the industry.

“That’s why Efya can lose that deal because her brand is corporatish so if drug dealing is attached to her brand it wouldn’t work. But if Shatta Wale is criticized for drug dealing, negativity is something he had started with where sometimes he is seen in his music videos smoking. So whoever is signing Shatta Wale onto a label or a brand knows who he is already”.

Sally Mann Frimpong

The media personality opined that Efya goes for corporate shows due to her brand citing examples with the likes of Festivals, and Legends Night with prominent people, even in Nigeria.

Sally Mann said that because of how she has branded herself, should anything bad about her goes out, deals will be taken away from her.

She further added that negativity sells with some artists but not all artists that negativity sells with.
