Elon Musk has responded to accusations from Ashley St. Clair, who recently claimed that he had significantly reduced the child support payments for their alleged child.
The controversy erupted when St. Clair posted on X (formerly Twitter), alleging that the billionaire slashed financial support by 60%, leaving her struggling to make ends meet.
She claimed that due to the reduction, she was forced to sell her Cybertruck to cover expenses.
The allegations quickly gained traction online, with many users questioning why someone associated with one of the world’s richest men would face financial difficulties.
While some sympathized with St. Clair, others speculated that there was more to the story. Critics argued that selling a luxury vehicle did not necessarily indicate hardship, while supporters felt Elon Musk should clarify his stance on the matter.
In response, Elon Musk issued a statement denying claims of neglect, revealing that he had already provided St. Clair with $2.5 million and was continuing to send her $500,000 annually.
He also expressed uncertainty regarding the paternity of the child, stating that he was open to confirming whether or not he was indeed the father. Despite this, he maintained that he had not withheld financial assistance.
St. Clair, however, wasn’t having it. She called Musk a “petulant man-child” while shutting down his version of events. “Elon, we asked you to confirm paternity through a test before our child (who you named) was even born. You refused,” she shot back.
“And you weren’t sending me money, you were sending support for your child that you thought was necessary… until you withdrew most of it to maintain control and punish me for ‘disobedience,’ but you’re really only punishing your son.”

St. Clair also took a swing at Musk’s use of social media, calling out what she sees as hypocrisy.
“It’s ironic that your last effort in court was to try to gag me while you use a social media channel you literally own to distribute derogatory messages about me and our child to the entire world. It’s all about control with you, and everyone can see it. America needs you to grow up, you petulant man-child.”

The dispute has ignited discussions about celebrity child support arrangements and financial responsibility.
Some argue that Elon Musk’s contributions are more than sufficient, while others believe that if he truly doubts paternity, he should settle the matter legally.
As the story continues to unfold, the debate over Elon Musk’s alleged child support reduction has drawn mixed reactions, fueling further speculation about the relationship between the billionaire and St. Clair.
Whether the situation will lead to legal proceedings or a private resolution remains to be seen.
Elon Musk is the father of 14 children with different partners, including Canadian author Justine Wilson and singer Grimes. His private life often attracts media attention, which can affect his professional activities.
Elon Musk Reclaims Title as World’s Richest Man
Elon Musk reclaimed his status as the richest man in the world, growing his net worth by 75 percent in the last year.
The Tesla and SpaceX CEO beat last year’s top billionaire, French businessman Bernard Arnault, in Forbes’ annual World Billionaires List, with a total worth of $342 billion, making him the richest person the list has ever featured.
Elon Musk fell behind Arnault, the owner of top fashion brands such as Louis Vuitton, Tiffany & Co. and Sephora in the 2024 rankings, with the tech CEO having an estimated net worth of $195 billion.
Since then, Musk has drastically increased his wealth, thanks to a boom in SpaceX and Tesla stock, which remains high despite the company’s recent public and financial issues.
In the annual rankings of the richest people in the world, Forbes estimated that Elon Musk was once again at the top of the list, beating out fellow tech CEOs Mark Zuckerberg, who placed second, and Jeff Bezos, who placed third.
Last year’s richest person, Arnault, dropped to fifth place after a decline in demand for luxury goods led to a slump in the stock price of LVMH, the biggest contributor to his wealth.
Elon Musk increased his wealth to such an extent that he is now worth twice as much as Arnault, who was estimated to be worth $178 billion.
Musk’s growth was spearheaded by the contributions of SpaceX, which overtook Tesla as the biggest contributor to his wealth for the first time this year.
SpaceX, of which Musk owns 42 percent, has become vital to NASA operations and the federal government’s space activity, with the recovery of astronauts Barry Wilmore and Sunita Williams from the ISS being carried out by a SpaceX vehicle.
Musk’s stocks soared in value in the wake of the 2024 election results, which positioned him directly in the White House with control over regulatory bodies and federal spending, thanks to his friendship with President Donald Trump and his new position as head of the Department of Government Efficiency.
Musk is likely to continue to be the richest man in the world, as the gap between him and Zuckerberg is over $100 billion. However, continuing public backlash against Tesla and its stock could limit Musk’s future growth.
