Veteran multiple award-winning actress and filmmaker, Funke Akindele has made her opinion known about the ongoing japa issues in the country.
As today, October 1, 2024, marks the 64th year that Nigeria gained her independence, the actress took to her Instagram to celebrate the country’s new year.
Funke Akindele appreciated and praised every Nigerian for their perseverance in this period of trial in the country.
The mother of two boys expressed her utmost belief that Nigeria will be great again and therefore she will not be relocating to another country for greener pastures.
The highest-grossing producer counted the blessings and achievements that she attained in Nigeria which include being able to empower the youth, the ability to shoot a movie with over one hundred and seventy-five (175) crew members, and the selling out of her movie release.
Akindele acknowledges that Nigeria got her all these and many more and she will not be deserting the country during her hard times.
Sharing the beautiful speech on her official verified Instagram page, Funke declares that Nigeria is a place where talents thrive and opportunities abound.

A few hours ago, Funke Akindele reached out to the less privileged in kind. She gave out food items to Lagosians in Somolu, Yaba, Mushin, and its environs.
She revealed that she will be showing kindness in different local governments in Lagos State through her movie, Everybody Loves Jenifa.
On the other hand, music star Mr Eazi took to his official X page to encourage Nigerians with his Independence Day message. He wrote: “Celebrating the strength, resilience, and energy of all citizens of Nigeria. Hoping for a greater Future! #nigeriaindependence.”

Nollywood actress turned activist and politician, Tonto Dikeh took to Instagram recently to celebrate Nigeria’s 64th Independence, and she had some words of encouragement for her fellow compatriots, alongside some tips that may help Nigeria succeed.
She noted that as Nigeria is 64 today, they’re standing as a proud nation, rooted in diversity, with a future that holds the promise of greatness if they continue to build it together.
“Happy 64th Anniversary, Nigeria! Today, we celebrate more than just a nation; we celebrate the resilient spirit of over 200 million people whose strength, creativity, and hope have continued to define our journey.
