It was an electrifying Sunday evening as casts and crew as well as fans of the much awaited Nollywood blockbuster, “Everybody Loves Jenifa”, by Funke Akindele, turned up for the premiere of the movie in Lagos.
The premiere was held at Filmhouse Lekki IMAX.
The movie, which boasts of a star-studded cast, features a dynamic ensemble of talent, including Nancy Isime, Patience Ozokwor, Layi Wasabi, Stan Nze, Chimezie Imo, Omowumi Dada, and multi-talented Falz the Bad Guy among others.
The red carpet moment was abuzz with excitement as Akindele, the lead actress and producer of the movie, posed for photos as well as other casts and crew who openly expressed their excitement over the new release.
With a glamorous and sophisticated fashion theme, guests dressed to impress, with many opting for high-end designer outfits and accessories.
“Everybody Loves Jenifa” is the latest instalment in the popular Jenifa franchise, created by Funke Akindele.
The movie, which is set to be released into cinemas Dec. 13, tells the tale of a naive and funny character, “Jenifa”.
This new series is a continuation of the “Jenifa’s Diary” television comedy series, which began in 2008.
The franchise has also spawned spin-offs like “Aiyetoro Town” and “Jenifa on Lockdown”.
Nigerian Afrobeats musician, Bisade Ologunde, popularly known as “Lagbaja”, made a stunning appearance at the movie premiere’s after party, where he performed his old songs to the excitement of the audience.

It’s worth noting that Funke Akindele achieved a groundbreaking milestone with the release of ‘A Tribe Called Judah’, which has become the highest-grossing Nollywood movie to date.
Funke Akindele Appreciates Dbanj

Nollywood actress, Funke Akindele has expressed gratitude to singer, Dbanj over his support for her and her Jenifa brand.
The movie star who held the premiere of her much talked about movie, Everybody Loves Jenifa on Sunday night, during her speech recounted how Dbanj stopped his personal project to support her.
“A big thank you to Bangalee; he was supposed to travel for a project. I begged and begged and begged. He told his guys to cut the project, and he would do this for me, and he did it at no cost.”

This isn’t the first time, Funke is singing the praises of Dbanj. During Dbanj’s anniversary dinner in June, Funke recounted how God used him to speak to her to keep her popular Jenifa brand.
The award-winning actress revealed that the singer was the one who encouraged her to keep the Jenifa brand on fire and had supported her financially to carry out her next project.
Dbanj’s support and belief in Funke and her Jenifa brand has taken her far.
The filmmaker is currently the Queen of Box Office after she made history in January as the first Nigerian filmmaker to gross over a billion at cinemas, with her 2023 movie, A Tr!be Called Judah, which grossed over N1.4 billion.
It was no surprise to many as Funke is one of the most hardworking women in Nollywood.
For her Everybody Loves Jenifa project, Funke had empowered 175 crew members. She made this known while celebrating them for working tirelessly for nine weeks to bring her upcoming movie to life.
She stated the movie was a self-funded project, and was honored to have empowered a team of talented individuals, with 95% of them being young people, to showcase their skills.
