Legendary Ghanaian singer, Gyedu-Blay Ambolley, has slammed Ghanaian rapper, Okyeame Kwame, for suing him after he called him out for allegedly loaning funds from MUSIGA.
The veteran Ghanaian musician in an interview described Okyeame Kwame as his junior rapper and expressed shock over how he has dragged a senior like him to court. The veteran musician further noted that he never insulted or bore any false witness against Okyeame Kwame for him to go to the extent of filing a defamatory suit against him.
“Okyeame Kwame is a junior rapper. You want to take a senior musician to court because I said some of you guys took loans and everything from MUSIGA office. [You’ve] taken a loan, and you a junior rapper, want to take a senior rapper, senior singer, senior composer, and everything to court?”

Gyedu-Blay then passed a daring comment as he emphasized that he’ll prove Okyaeme Kwame “wrong”.
It can be recalled that Gyedu-Blay Ambolley was served with a writ of summons in August 2020 after lawyers of Okyeame Kwame filed a defamatory case against him.
This was after Gyedu-Blay Ambolley during an interview was reported to have alleged that the former President of MUSIGA, Bice Osei Kuffuor (Obour) gave Okyeame Kwame and some of his other friends 50,000 Ghana Cedis each from a 2 million Ghana Cedis funds that was given to the union by the government in 2012.
Okyeame Kwame, through his lawyer, Bobby Banson ESQ, of Smith & Adelaide legal firm, asked Ambolley to retract the statement or be sued if he failed to do so within 72 hours. Failing to retract and apologize within the 72 hours period, Okyeame Kwame through his lawyers filed the case.
However, Ambolley at the time seemed to have been missing as they couldn’t find him to present the court document to him. Due to this, Okyeame Kwame took to his Instagram page on Thursday, August 27, 2020, to notify the public about the issue.
“We have been trying to give this writ to Mr. Gyedu-Blay Ambolley since March this year but the bailiff couldn’t find him to deliver. So pls if you know where the legend is, please tell him the court is looking for Him. He must report within 8 days. This document is legal. Thank You”.
However, Mr. Ambolley in his interview disclosed that he intentionally snubbed Okyeame Kwame.
“He started last year, sending me bailiffs… I snubbed him because I know that he doesn’t know what he is doing”.
Gyedu-Blay
Gyedu-Blay also revealed that he was waiting for the case “to be big” so that he can “prove” that he has “evidence for the whole world to see”.
“There is no reason for me to get up and fabricate something on Okyeame”.
Gyedu-Blay
According to Gyedu-Blay Ambolley, the case will be heard on February 18, 2022, and he is prepared to face Okyeame Kwame squarely.
