A renowned Ghanaian gospel singer, Nacee has disclosed that he deserves to win the 2024 VGMA Artiste of the Year.
The Ghanaian Gospel artist and producer said he agrees with what people are suggesting about him relating to his achievement this year.
He said he has heard the comments people have been passing about his work.
The ‘Aseda’ hitmaker thinks he is getting the same pressure and support people gave to Piesie Esther in the VGMA 2023.
Nacee believes these remarks are being made because of the excitement people have gotten following the release of his ‘Aseda’ song.
The Gospel artist stated that he has accepted it in Good faith as a Christian.
After winning his first VGMA award in 2008 as the Producer of the Year, Nacee averred he would be very happy to win the VGMA 2024 Artiste of the Year.
He indicated that the VGMA Board/Academy and Ghanaians are wise to make the right decision and award who deserves to win.
The popular Gospel artiste revealed some people are even rooting for him to win Artist of the Decade.
Secular Artists Make Far More Money Than Gospel Artists In Ghana
Ghanaian Gospel artist and producer, Nacee, opened up about who makes much money between secular and Gospel artists.
The renowned Gospel artist revealed secular artists make far more money than Gospel artists. He explained that people see what Gospel artists do as ministerial work.
Nacee admitted that doing the work of God comes with a lot of complications.
The ‘Aseda’ composer said event organizers would accept to pay secular artists higher than Gospel artists, meanwhile, they are all using the same machines and doing similar promotions.
He argued that Gospel artists should be paid more than secular artists. While secular artists do miming, Nacee stated that Gospel artists go on stage with a whole team.
Nacee wished they could come together and change this occurrence and how Gospel artists in the country are treated.
He added that Gospel artists should be invested in more than Secular artists because of the kind of music they put out.
He said:
“Events organizers for both gospel artists and secular artists in Ghana and in the diaspora are doing well. Looking Abroad, those involved in events organizing, do not have sponsorship, apart from those who are at home. They are the ones who get more sponsorship. So, comparing the Gospel artists to the secular artists, if you do not know how to put it, you might get yourself into trouble”

He added that sometimes you’ll be in need of a particular keyboard or a particular sound, but looking at the event organizer who wishes to do more, the money to rent becomes an issue because there is no sponsorship.
Also, he asserted that sponsorship for secular artists is high while sponsorship for Gospel artists is low.
The Gospel artist explained that the event organizers are doing their best and if they are to get support, he believes they will also benefit.
He opined:
“Mostly you get more paid than when you’re called outside your reach. Maybe we go to Kenya, Piesie will be treated differently, I’ll be treated differently, and I can call any amount, be it $50,000 or $100,000 and you will also get your share.
“They will give you that kind of 5-star hotel, security, and the like. If you want to move with a certain number of people, for sure you can move with them but the only problem is if you’re doing something with your household and if the event organizers have enough support from the corporate bodies, we will be treated properly, but they don’t also have much. Some people too have but won’t give it out”.
