Kurl Songx Reveals How He Critiques’ Himself

Kurl songs

Ghanaian vocalist, Kurl Songx has revealed that he takes time to listen to his old songs.

According to him, it helps him to critique himself. The singer stated that times and seasons change, thus listening to his old songs helps him correct certain mistakes and flaws.

“For me, I like to listen to them and also make corrections when it comes to what I am doing. Mostly, I listen to my old songs so it gives me a view of what I’m up to now. That is the main reason and I enjoy them as well,” he said.

Musician Believes Gospel Music Success Transcends Large Crowds

Singer Laments Audiences Now Attend Live Concerts Finding Faults

“As humans we grow, so songs that I made some time back, maybe if I am approaching it today, I will approach it differently. It could be even the singing or the writing, it depends on the song, and they all come into play,” he explained.

He further stated that he does not follow current trends although they might help promote his music.

“I choose to be different, and that’s because it’s like everyone is going in this direction, though it would take some time, I choose to be different, so I don’t follow the same line,” he further added.

Musician Kurl Songx said he has resolved to make music the only way he wants and knows how to, despite the constant change in music trends.

Kurl Songx said that although experimenting with trends when making music might be great for his career, he does not want to risk fading away when a trend’s timeline ends.

“I believe trends come and go. So if I follow the trend, it means that when the trend comes, I’m in. But the moment the trend goes, what else? You understand? So I do music. As long as it’s good music, I’m okay. Yeah. Yeah. As long as it’s good music,” he explained.

Kurl Songx also expressed confidence in himself and his music.

“I know it will take time, but because I am doing good music, and I am not following trends, I know one day, they (the people) will get to understand me,” he said.

He further admonished individuals to exercise patience in their line of work.

“Sometimes, you will want to be in people’s faces but I believe when you are following a good cause, it all takes time. Not every success is a scam and that’s what I believe in,” he said.

The artist asserted that he believes that early success is sometimes a scam.

Disclosing Inspiration Behind New Release

Kurl Songx disclosed that his new release, ‘911’, was inspired by a broken heart experience he suffered in his last relationship.

He stated that the breakup made him do a lot of things including selling his air conditioner out of frustration.

“My new song is titled 911 because I have gotten a broken heart — to the extent that I have sold my air conditioner. As for broken heart, some people dey chop, so for me to sell my air conditioner, it means I have truly been broken,” he shared.

According to him, the ex-girlfriend who broke his heart is a popular TikTok influencer. He however refused to disclose her identity, adding that he was pained after she left him.

He further stated that the relationship they had was more of a private one since it wasn’t known to most individuals.

He noted that his new release, ‘911’, which features Ko-Jo Cue, encompasses the details of the breakup, therefore he is entreating his fans to listen to the song.

Kurl Songx also revealed that all attempts to reconcile with his ex-girlfriend proved futile.
