Felix Adomako Mensah, Known professionally as Zionfelix, has revealed that he had always wanted to do radio and television journalism.

He explained that he didn’t know what to do after school because he was the kind of person who wanted to be free. He said he attended the University of Ghana (Legon) because of the pride it takes to be there as a student.

The blogger further explained that his father wanted him to be a teacher in the future so he asked him to get forms from the University of Education, Winneba, but rather got forms for Legon due to what he had an interest in, adding that, he took the risk and chose a course that would go in his favor because of the grades he had.

He recounted:

“So right now I can’t really tell what I would have done without blogging but I know that God knows me and he knew that I could do this better”.

Also, Zionfelix recalled how he started blogging with a laptop, even though his friend tried discouraging him saying the income was less but he turned a deaf ear to him because of the love he had for entertainment.

He further added that his friend gave him a space in his cafe shop where he started a free blog spot platform, where he copied contents from all the entertainment websites in Ghana.

Zionfelix disclosed:

“So I was copying contents from all the big entertainment website, Ameyaw Debrah, OMG Ghana, Ghana Web, all the entertainmnet sites. So, I was copying and pasting and OMG Ghana saw I had passion for the job because I was constantly updating my platform. They asked me to join them and they started paying me but I was surprised they were paying me because I was just doing it because I loved it”.

Zionfelix

The blogger revealed that OMG Ghana later asked him to focus on his blogging platform since it was growing big and they were rebranding their website at that time.

Explaining his content creation on his YouTube platform, Zionfelix said he was into event content creation but events were not taking place all the time so he decided to create his own content by following celebrities in a car in order to be able to interview them and create his contents out of it.

Zionfelix reveals content creation generates income

The blogger, Zionfelix revealed that content creation generates much revenue through more viewership and more creation of content.

He explained that he has ten employees because of the opportunities content creation has brought and he is able to pay them on the 21st of every month.

He stated:

“I think 3 to 4 years back I did six Regional tour teaching people how to make GHC 10,000 on YouTube a month. Even that time people were not believing one could make GHC 10,000”.

Zionfelix

He further added that every job that an individual does depends on the individual and how incomes are generated. Citing an example, he said a house has been bought by a tomato seller through sales made by people patronizing.

The social media influencer also stated that revenue generated from content creation is through the advertisements that pop up when the video is played, adding that they can be either direct or indirect.

He said:

“If you go to Nigeria, I won’t lie to you, the boys are making money on Facebook. The comedians, people can get like $100,000 in a year. People get $15,000 in a month. I mean Nigerians; not Ghanaians. As I said it is now getting to Ghana and it is difficult to monetize your content on Facebook. In Ghana, it is not allowed so they go through dubious means to make money, but with Nigerian comedians, with just one video they can get like $5000 with five million views and ten thousand views”.

Zionfelix

He further stated that creating content is not an easy thing to do because a lot of effort is put into it in order to get viewers to enjoy it.
