Ghanaian hip hop rapper, Darryl Paa Kwesi Bannerman-Martin, better known as Joey B, has tasked rapper and songwriter, Tulenkey to record a ‘Stingy Men Association’ song.
This comes after the trending topic on Twitter, ‘Stingy Men Association’, gathered momentum in Ghana. This trend had already started in Nigeria and it’s now hitting Ghana.
The ‘Akobam’ hitmaker, took to his Twitter page to make his request to the ‘Your Girlfriend’ hitmaker adding that Tulenkey, should feature him in the song.
“Make somebody tell Tulenkey to compose a stingy men association song and put me on”
Some social media users couldn’t agree with him less as some even went on to suggest other artists that should be featured too. Some even went to the extent of creating a ‘Stingy Men Association’ card for Joey B.
That notwithstanding, Tulenkey responded to the request of Joey B on Twitter and said, the beats will soon be ready and that he will mail it to Joey.
“The beat go drop for your mail soon”
The trend of ‘Stingy Men Association earlier started from Zambia in East Africa as a social media trend, where Zambia men pledge not to spend over 5thousand Zambia currency on their girlfriends but rather invest it and earn some interest.
That aside, Joey B, recently shared a motivating story about how he met Kofi Mole for the first time.
In a video sighted on social media, Joey B told Kwaku Manu in an interview that Kofi Mole was a second-hand clothes dealer at Kantamanto when he saw him for the first time.
The ‘Tonga’ hitmaker revealed he used to buy a lot of clothes, caps, and other items from the shop where Mole was a salesperson.
He recalled the caps used for promoting his ‘Strawberry Ginger’ song were sold to him by Kofi Mole and as a regular customer, Joey B said Kofi Mole told him one day that he knows him.
According to him, Mole disclosed that he was a musician after he recognized him as one, however, Joey B indicated that he didn’t take him seriously because he [Mole] was young at that time and besides, he[Joey B] was just an up and coming artist and therefore couldn’t render him any help in that sense.
He also revealed how a brother of Kofi Mole, commented about his regular visit to the shop, and he replied that he will get to a point in his life where he won’t patronize items from Kanta again.
After Kofi Mole released his ‘Mensah’ song, Joey B said he saw him and thought Kofi Mole looked familiar but he wasn’t able to recall where he knows him.
Interestingly, Joey B averred meeting Kofi Mole at the Accra Mall as a musician, and the happiness and shock gave him goosebumps.
In other news, Joey B recently stated that he has never tried smoking or drinking alcohol in his life.
He made this disclosure in an interview on Zylofon FM.
Though he has had an encounter with people who smoke and drink alcohol, Joey stressed that they did not influence him.
He indicated that his energetic performance is natural and not enhanced by alcoholic intake or smoking of any substance and further posited that he wouldn’t be shy, to tell the truth, if he smokes or takes alcohol.
