Award-winning Ghanaian singer, King Promise has thrown subtle jabs on social media amid his recent issues with his colleague, Stonebwoy.

Tension mounted between the two artists after they were nominated for the Artiste of the Year award at the 2024 Telecel Ghana Music Awards (TGMAs).

King Promise’s close friend, Efia Odo, made some unsavoury remarks about Stonebwoy in an attempt to help the ‘CCTV’ hitmaker win the Artiste of the Year award.

Rumours emerged that the camps of the two artists were involved in an altercation at the TGMAs.

Stonebwoy also failed to acknowledge or respond to King Promise’s congratulatory message after he was crowned the Artiste of the Year.

The two artists have denied claims they were embroiled in a feud and that an altercation had ensued between them.

In response to a video of his recent encounter with Grammy-nominated Ghanaian veteran musician, Rocky Dawuni shared on X (formerly Twitter), King Promise expressed his gratitude to music legends who paved the way for him and others.

The Legacy Life Entertainment signee also commended them for imparting knowledge to the current generation of Ghanaian music industry artists.

“God bless the legends that paved the way and continue to impart knowledge. no hate just mutual respect, unlike some 😊.”

The Ghanaian musician has hit a major milestone, surpassing 400 million streams on Spotify. His fans and followers have celebrated the achievement.

The announcement was made on X (formerly Twitter). King Promise shared the news with his followers, expressing his excitement through emojis.

Fans quickly reacted, flooding the comments section with praise and support.

Many celebrated the milestone, commending his hard work and talent. They also highlighted his contribution to promoting Ghanaian music worldwide.

With popular tracks like ‘Slow Down,’ ‘Ginger,’ and ‘Terminator,’ King Promise has built a strong fanbase both in Ghana and internationally.

The musician recently released a new album, ‘True To Self’, earlier this year. The success of the project has contributed to his significant streaming numbers on Spotify.

Moreover, King Promise’s success has given him access to more international shows, which has led him to do fewer local shows.

The celebrated Ghanaian musician disclosed the reasons behind his limited performances at local events.

Speaking candidly, the singer emphasized that his absence is not financially motivated but largely due to a lack of invitations from rural promoters.

King Promise addressed widespread misconceptions, making it clear that his absence from many local shows is not tied to exorbitant fees.

“It is not a money thing. I do not perform many local shows because of money. It is not because they could not afford to pay me. My team and I deal with every business differently. I won’t charge you the same way I charge someone in Portugal or Paris. It is definitely going to be different.”

King Promise

He elaborated further, noting that the lack of engagement from rural promoters was a key factor.

“The reason I don’t perform in rural areas is that they don’t really have promoters who actually do these gigs and have reached out to me. They have money. They paid me really well when I went to Berekum, probably even better than some people in Accra would.”

King Promise

King Promise also urged event organizers in rural areas to approach his team, assuring them of his willingness to connect with his fans in every part of the country.
