Ghanaian singer and EMPIRE signee Kuami Eugene has crashed his Range Rover Velar in a ghastly motor accident.
The Ghanaian recently sold out his show in London and is planning to shut down Italy on April 20 with a venue already announced.
According to reports, the sad incident happened at CP close to DSTV, after Achimota Overhead towards the Dzorwulu traffic light with Kwami Eugene in the driver’s seat.
In 2021, the 27-year-old artist received his brand new Range Rover Velar as a gift from Angel Group of Companies CEO Dr. Kwaku Oteng.
Kuami Eugene, known in private circles as Eugene Kwame Marfo, is believed to have crashed the car into a tipper truck in the late hours of Sunday, March 17, 2024.
Unconfirmed reports said the young singer is in great condition despite the severe damage to his car during the accident.
The reports also said it happened around 11:30 pm, and an editor from Modern Ghana who was at the scene rushed to the singer’s rescue. He also arranged for a vehicle to convey him together with one person (a male) onboard to the University of Ghana Medical Centre (UGMC) for urgent medical attention.
Additionally, the Achimota Police were summoned to assist with the situation.
Eyewitnesses who stopped to render assistance reported that Kuami Eugene sustained a broken wrist and a deep cut on his right hand as a result of the accident.
Kuami Eugene’s fans reacted to the unfortunate news.
“Lord have mercy ooo,” one Naatsotsoo Manison said.
“God deliver him from premature death amen,” Gabriel Gabby Mills wrote.
Management Of Kwami Eugene Shares Update
Lynx Entertainment, the management of Ghanaian musician, Kuami Eugene, shared some updates on the tragic motor accident in which their artist had been involved.
In a statement addressed to the public, the management, while confirming the incident also disclosed that the Highlife artist is currently undergoing treatment.
According to the record label, Eugene is very much alive although he has sustained some injuries. Eugene Kwame Marfo as he is known in real life broke his arm, had a cut on his lips, and leg, and had an injury in the hip.
The statement also contained that the passenger who was on board with Kuami Eugene had suffered some injuries and is currently receiving treatment as well.
“Lynx Entertainment wishes to inform the general public that singer Kuami Eugene is alive and currently receiving treatment following a car crash on Sunday, March 17, 2024. Our artiste sustained some injuries together with one passenger but currently responding to treatment,” parts of the statement read.
They, however, pleaded with the public to accord the musician and his family some privacy to aid his recovery.
“We appreciate the outpour of love, fans, media, and the general public but we plead the artiste is given much space at this moment as he begins his recovery,” the statement read.
Lynx Entertainment signed Kuami Eugene shortly after contesting in season 5 of MTN Hitmaker in Ghana in 2016.
