Veteran Ghanaian actress and media personality, Grace Omaboe popularly known as Maame Dokono, has welcomed the idea of having a statue erected in her honor at the popular Maame Dokono Park in Ghana’s capital city of Accra.
In her response to the question as to whether she thinks the country has honored her enough, Maame Dokono answered that she has been honored but she thinks that it would be more honorable to have her statue or bust erected at the Maame Dokono Park in Accra.
“Yes! I think there should be my statue there for my legacy to be in the minds of the little ones who are coming because I am even in their books.
“If something like that could be erected in my honor, it would be a nice thing. I am not forcing anybody to do it but if it is done, fine!”

Actress Advises On Relationship
Maame Dokono shared powerful advice on relationships, particularly on how men should treat women who genuinely love them.
She emphasized the importance of valuing and respecting a woman who opens her heart and shows love.
According to Maame Dokono, when a woman goes out of her way to care for a man and does everything to make him happy, the man mustn’t take her for granted.
The actress cautioned men against playing games or being unfaithful to such women, warning that they will eventually pay for it.
“The love affairs and all that, I have passed through it all, and if you read my book, you will see. There are many lessons to learn from it about how to live with men. Every lady needs to read that book.
“Men too should read it to learn how to treat a lady well because if you don’t, it can backfire on you. Don’t play hunky-panky with a woman who opens up her heart, shows you love, and does everything for you while you’re doing other things. That one, you will actually pay for it.”
Maame Dokono
Maame Dokono’s advice serves as a reminder that genuine love and care should be met with the same level of commitment and respect.
Taking someone’s love for granted, especially when they’ve given their all, can lead to consequences that may not be easily undone. Respect, honesty, and loyalty should be the foundation of any relationship.
About her upcoming book launch scheduled for September 7, 2024, commemorating her six decades in the film industry, Maame Dokono mentioned that her book, titled ‘The Unforgettable,’ offers valuable relationship insights for both men and women.
She urged individuals of all genders to acquire her book, which delves into her personal life experiences, including her previous relationships, professional journey, and former political aspirations.
